At least under U.S. law, she's backed by fair use and doesn't need permission to use the tail photos. It's often a law that people often cite incorrectly, but it's an informative article that doesn't stand to make a profit, so it's covered. I know Aquamermaid isn't based out of the U.S. though so IDK what her country's laws are. I wish she'd correct the mislabeled mernation tail, it is not made by mertailor.

Hmm. I thought that personal tails needed permission from the individual owners. Afterall the effort it took to design said dream tail and then to have it displayed on a non associated website.

Again, it's still covered under fair use. They don't need permission to use the images for journalism, research, education, criticism, social media or parody. If they were using them in a for-profit youtube video, then they'd be violating the image's copyright. Using them in an informative article about buying a silicone tail isn't a violation.
