Silicone and sewing for a sequin tail?

So I'm making a sequin tail, but to try and combat the "shed" of sequins I will be sewing them down, and "gluing" them with silicone.

My scales are 47mm and I am wondering if anyone else has tried this.

Sequins will cut through silicone eventually.

Im going to thry this too! First I want to sew the scales on and then cover the part where there is wire with silicone. I haven’t tried this though!

Gotcha. Maybe an aquatic-safe glue instead?

You are best off sewing the sequin on with upholstery thread and using a waterproof glue like e6000 to glue the knots so they don’t unravel

Thanks! That’s exactly what I’m doing, and so far so good. All scales are very very sturdy.

Whether its a success or disaster, it should at least be interesting to see when it's complete.
