Swim With Mermaids 2015

If you haven't heard about the growing mermaid community in Louisiana, then you are missing out! We just held Swim With Mermaids, our first public event as a group. We sold over 100 tickets, and had a great party. We've got such a great group of girls down here, and I am so happy that I got to see them at Swim With Mermaids this year. The event took months of planning, but it was so worth it. Food, music, games, mermaid races, and more! Mermaids from across the south came, and some people even made a vacation out of it since we were in New Orleans! Check out the video from the event

Outside the pool, we had mermaid scale facepainting, show and tell items, and bubble blowing

NeCole the mermaid won first place in the mermaid race, and Venessa, the Louisiana mermaid won second. Check out their trophies!

Nice! I wish I had something like that at my local pool. The few other mermaids that I've seen is a pre-teen merfin girl and some other kids in the Finis Mermaid fin. None of them wear tails, and all are more interested in the Wave machine than actual mermaid swimming!
