Black mermaid tails?

I'm wanting a black tail too, but I want it all smooth, maybe only a few slight ridges on the tail but nothing more and neon blue colored fins. I might post a picture of what I have in mind.
But my bf is afraid I will look fat in an tail like that

Sounds like your boyfriend needs a tail-slap to the mouth.

I want to go with a black silicone tail with slight gold highlights(just glimmery ones on the bottom edges of the scales and along the edge of the fluke.. With a black top of netting and gems and small gold flakes. And then I wanna make some fore-arm fins that blend into my skin with sharp edges and claws kind of like these but considerably more blended with my hands lol:

Bellasea: thx for mentioning me, I, indeed, have a "dark" tail :-p, it's grey with blue accents AND the tail is finally finished

He really hurt me with that comment so I made a blue tail instead that you can see on my deviantart site. He also said that kids wouldn't like mermaids with black tails because they would automaticly think that you would be evil...

But I'm still longing to make or get a black tail... I'm just going to sketch the tail and then show it

Not sure if you were looking for a fabric one or a more "realistic" tail but figured I would through it out there, just in case I had what you are looking for..

i'm new to the merworld and i have to say i am SO impressed by all the creativity! mermaasai i LOVE the fins on your black/gold tail they look absolutely beautiful in the water and the tail by merberry ^^^ is super freakin awesome too! i'm all about black... barely started incorporating some color in my wardrobe this summer... but black is always the automatic go-to!
