Thanks! I got lots of compliments on them at the Ren Faire! Here's the outfit:
In the second picture my face says, "Ooooh! Look at my pretty shoes!" ^_^
love the scales
I just wanted to share some new accessories I made really quick (I might post more later):
I made a seahorse/sea star necklace (It glows yellow in the dark): And a pair of earrings to go with my future tail:
Everything I've seen here looks awesome! I love your whole costume for Ren Faire, Winged Mermaid.
Omg I've been so busy at band camp and I come back to see all of these beautiful creations
I can't pick out any that trump the others, they're all so great and creative!
Wow these are so stunning! Please could you tell me where you buy the sea grass/sea weed from as I cannot find any and it looks amazing on your accessories xxx thank you mer friends xxx
Make Bubbles not War....
I don't have a tail yet but I've been working on stuff in anticipation.. hopefully I'll have one by next summer
anyway, here is a matching headdress and necklace I've been working on:
I'm still working on adding more crystals and pearls to both, but the headdress is tricky because the chain mail links I have are just a tiny bit too thick for anything to fit on properly.. so I'll have to devise a new way to attach them. I've been making it all up as I go, never worked on jewelry before!
I love headdresses ~ he matching necklace is stunning as well <3

Raina, you say you're not so crafty, but those accessories look great!!
Ophelia I love the chain mail! Just make sure it's the right kind of metal to withstand water, unless you plan to have them for just dry wear. I really love the chandelier look of the necklace, and I'm always a sucker for head dresses, especially circlets!
All of these are so fantastic!
lol I realized after the fact that I probably won't be wearing my mermaid belt with my tail because of my dorsal fin...
So I guess it's just for wearing around in human form lol ^_^ I still like it, I'll probably always be adding to it
This was just after I finished adding the major stuff, lol my 'workbench' doubles as my bed I really have enjoyed not buying shells but using the good ones I've found over the many years of being at the beach or rivers ^_^
I have mine on my Youtube I'd love you to check it out!:

Now that summer is winding down the craft bug has hit me again! I've decided I'd like to try and sell some stuff, that way I can let my creativity out a bit hopefully without breaking the bank. It's a little slow going since I'm in a smaller town now with fewer selections. But I'm about to place a large order from an online shell shop, so things are going to get awesome once that comes in!
Here are some of my recent creations:
This one wasn't quite finished, but you get the picture.
I kind of want to put pearls on everything :P
By the way, here's what happens to my work space when I craft :P I usually don't have a plan for something when I'm making it, so I just sit down with everything and see what calls to me, and check to see if looks good before I start securing it (if I can).
This happen to anyone else? lol :P
my coffee table looks a little like this. I just don't have as much stuff yet
Beautiful accessorize everyone Think I am going to have to make some myself now.
Okay Its driving me crazy, what is the name of the piece that attaches the top of seaweed to a string. Like in Raina's third picture there's a little metal piece at the top of the seaweed, what's it called?

Cord ends. if your using your wire or fishing line and you need to make a neat loop you can use crimp beads.
This is an Aussie site but I think this is what you mean. (third option down)
