Sh*t gets real: swimming underwater naked in the arctic while frolicking with whales

I'm posting this here because its very, very awesome, and I didn't want it to go unnoticed outside of the diving forum.

Naked female scientist swimming with Belugas

Under the pretense of hoping to better interact with Beluga whales, which according to some logic do not like clothes, a Russian diver, Natalia Avseenko, swam with them naked.

The accompanying pictures are beautiful. Also incredible? Through her training, Natalia Avseenko can stay under water in 1.5 C water for ten minutes. [mind ... BLOWN]

yah I shared this on FB. I love it, I have done underwater fine nude and outdoor fine nude art modeling The photographer I worked with has an AMAZING bunch of photos of a fellow model ingrid in the water, like stunning stuff. Check out some of his water stuff here http://evolvingbeauty.com/index.php/...category/water
Disclaimer: this work is NUDE and while it's not illegal for people under 18 to view (it's not porn, it's fine art) I take no responsibility if you are uncomfortable and choose to view.

Anyway photos that kinda go with this theme, Ingrid in a frozen waterfall nude: http://evolvingbeauty.com/index.php/..._08_01862_st16

Eric (the photog) is one of my best friends and I consider him like a brother, I met him when I was SUPER sick and mis-diagnosed with MS and modeling nude was on my bucket list. He was so amazing and his work was so exactly what I felt nude art should be about! I always want to share it, but it's tricky to find a place to do it. I haven't done anything in the ice but Ive scaled giant huge glacier rocks and posed on those, I've posed in a forest that was completely destroyed by fire and covered in black ash, and it's been one of the best things I've ever done in my life

I'm not a big fan of nudity, but that picture is beautiful to me because there's absolutely zero sexual connotation whatsoever and I admire it when people push themselves to their limits.

Holy crap. Seriously. That is nuts.

Although it sounds like that article has its facts mixed up. They said she can hold her breath for 10 minutes and 40 seconds. I think that's longer than the current womens world record for breathholding, and at subfreezing temperatures that seems even more unlikely.

Hmmm, a Russian underwater filmmaker who recorded her underwater swims with the Belugas recently put up a video of her swims on YouTube.

In it you can see how she accomplished such long underwater times. She buddy breathed with a scuba diver.

It's in Russian, with no subtitles available, but still, an amazing video.
