    Falsies Underwater?

    Good evening everybody,

So, I absolutely positively love wearing my false eyelashes. They are beautiful, make me feel glamorous on my most down days, and really help since I don't naturally have nice long lashes, but I'm wondering/guessing that they don't hold up well in water? I've personally never tried it. I was wondering if any of you have? What are some possible lash glues or adhesives (safe around the eyes) that will keep them looking well and strong underwater? I can't have my lids floating to the top while I'm chatting with the fish.

    Hope you can help,

    TheSolitarySiren

    Falsies Underwater?

I know one method but its a bit unsafe if done wrong I think someone would have to show you as the method for putting false lashes on is different in that the lashes sit further away from the lash line and tilt downwards more!

I've only seen girls do it when I worked as a dancer on a cruise ship. The show was a water show where we had the stage and a big trough of water at the front we used to jump/dive (and in my situation fall) into! The girls used all sorts of eyelash adhesive to no effect and then one of the Russian acrobats on our cruise said to try using PVC glue and she showed the girls how to put it on, etc

As I say I can't tell you how to use it just that I know people do but they put the lashes on differently to the normal way! Out of the 12 girls only one had an allergic reaction (tho she was a drama queen and I'm 80% sure she faked it) lol

I love falsies too, and I've been thinking of trying it just to see if it worked. I don't find the glue comes off with any water. But at the same time, I have killer underwater mascara that works perfectly for me.

I think most good waterproof mascara's work well as long as you don't touch your face. I have never gotten false lashes to stay on and it's so frustrating

Hmmm. That does sounds a little risky. Once you said 'PVC Glue', 'Pros-aide' popped into my mind. So, I might have to go with that. Thank you!~

"The “original” water-based adhesive for the skin. It adheres for long periods without irritation. Pros-AideŽ is the leading adhesive used for medical prosthetic applications. Pros-AideŽ is the standard in the industry for adhering appliances and other make-up components to skin. It is safe to use on all skin including sensitive areas. It gives a strong bond and has high water resistance. It is non-toxic and completely safe.

Pros-AideŽ is the base for PAX Paint™ – a combination of water-based colors with Pros-AideŽ. PAX Paint™ is a flexible color with high bond strengths used for the skin and many surfaces.
Pros-AideŽ has been used in thousands of projects in filming major motion pictures, stage and TV."

It suppose to be really waterproof and safe. . . I'll have to try that. Thank you for the idea about putting it up farther on the lid, I'm sure that would help keep it safe too!

Well, if you ever try it be sure to tell me how it went!~ What kind of 'killer' mascara is it? I could always use some good make-up if you're willing to share?

I've also hear of the lash-glue adhesive called "DUO" Anybody used it with water?

Eyelash glue is waterproof Although it will come off if you pull it off. I learned that prom night xD It's an excellent little glue!

Most eyelash glues are latex-based (pre-vulcanised natural rubber latex) which is waterproof. I'm sure you could test it with a pair of cheap falsies. As long as the glue is totally dry before you go underwater, it should form a seal between your skin and the lashes. I use Duo myself, and it's survived a full 12 hour rave where I'm sweating buckets.

    I love my falsies too.

Here's a sure way to keep them on.
This is a lil secret I've picked up from some friends I went to cosmetology school with.I haven't used duo or ardell eyelash glue since.
Go to a hair beauty supply store ( Sally's beauty supply has it also) and look for "hair bonding glue" used for bonding hair extensions.i use the brand, salon pro. It comes in a 1 fl.oz bottle. It has seriously changed my life. It's cheap (1-2$) and it will last you a lifetime! you apply it just as you would regular eyelash glue. A little goes a long way. You don't need to wait for 30 seconds, as soon as u line that lash, get some tweezers and put it against your lash line and it bonds and sticks instantly! No blowing or fanning your eyes needed. And it stays for as long as you want it to. It's super easy to remove. I would even say, it's easier to remove then regular eyelash glue! I have sensitive eyes and had not had a problem using this product. I've gone underwater with it plenty of times and the only time the lashes come off , is when I rub my eyes because I can't stand the chlorine in the water. Lol ^_^

I haven't had the experience with it being waterproof...in fact, we use water to get it off our natural lashes when it gets stuck after dance performances. I don't know if I just use a different kind of eyelash glue or what >.>

What hair bonding glue brand would you say would be the best to buy? Is hair bonding glue safe you use next to your eyes?
