Sims 3 Island Paradise - MERMAIDS!

The sims 3 has a new expansion pack called island paradise! Not only can you scuba dive and build a house boat, they have MERMAIDS! This is defiantely on my want list

^ I've been deprived of my sims. My computer is acting sorta wonky and can't handle the graphics suddently. I can;t wait to get my own laptop -__- lol

My wife and I have been getting ready to prep our computer for this. Shopping for a new motherboard and processor. I will be recreating Splash at the earliest opportunity.

Are they playable? There doesn't seem to be anything I can find that says they are.

Since there is one even in there at all, I figure if they dont swim like that or are playable with the game, then there will be at least the same costume like tail used in previous sims. If not it is more likely that someone will create one since it is a tropical water expansion pack.

They've released more info about it. They confirmed that they're playable, and that they will be of both genders. Also I think they get legs on land.

Apparently theres a sea monster which oddly resembles the kracken to me. O.o it just snatched a boat right out of the surface...NEAT!

You won't be fighting a kraken, but they will likely be available to catch. I have been checking the sims wiki every day for the past two months. The wife just gave me the okay to shell out hundreds of dollars for a new motherboard and processor to make sure it runs properly. Eight cores running at 4.0 GHz attached to 8 MB lvl 2 cache...and two months of research to articulate to her why that will help her run a resort from a houseboat while kicking mermaids out of her son's birthday party.

It is out today...and guess who was in the store first thing in the morning? The mermaid is pretty cool. Sad that there are no tails on land and that you can't choose to be a mermaid right at the start like you can with other supernaturals, but it is otherwise AWESOME. And the rest of the game is pretty cool too. Love having a houseboat and diving into the kraken's lair. Haven't tried the hotel management part yet. I have a feeling it is going to be pretty interesting for those who are into it, but overall I think it is going to be more like the world adventure expansion in that I'll probably never actually use any of its features.
