I'm going to design a new tee shirt that says "World's Leading Professional Mermaid" and add your name, and they will be for sale at cost. Watch how fast we can dilute THAT brand!

you should totally do that, but she tends to trademark common mermaid phrases (which is super expensive) so you might have to sell em outta Canada lol

Hmmmm...I wonder if you might know if someone who could be a Canadian distributor who works on commission?

Okay, that is just irksome beyond belief. If something is common enough, however, before she used it, someone could fight that. Which is probably also super expensive.

I feel very HOW DARE SHE about the idea of TMing common mer phrases. That won't be winning her any new fans from the community.

So I see since January 25th when I made my post, she now has
    103,108 fans...

so that's an increase of 11,000+ fans in less than 2 weeks...

Activity over the past 2 weeks? 2 videos both with 83 likes... and then somehow we jump to 2-5000 likes on images of animals that 2 weeks ago were only getting a couple hundread?

Anyone else find it totally obnoxious that with no media, no viralness, etc (that I can track down) that in less than 2 weeks she's gained 11,000+ fans and the activity on her page has gone from in the 100's to in the 2000-20,000 range? Did you know you can also not only buy likes for your page, but buy fake shares and fake likes on images too In several of the websites I researched for buying fake fans, you could also buy views on youtube, likes on images, comments, shares, youtube subcribers, twitter followers etc...

I just personally think, stunts like this lower the whole community of mermaids and professional mermaids. Lame. I'll keep trucking with my actual fans I guess but wowza...

Eric is doing the same dirty move.
SO LAME. This guy made me doing the facepalm quite a lot recently

On 4th of February, mister Ducharme claimed that he reached "50 000" likes (if there are real likes...) and now, he has 51 165...

Bottom line : Him and Melissa are both attention whores playing with fake numbers. Good for them.

Smh. Very sad that this is what some people do instead of earning actual fans honestly.

I claim "The Pinkest mermaid From Great Lake to Great Lake in awesomeness and piracy" lol does that make sense?

Start a fan page! You won't even have to buy likes with a title like that.

He's also VERY popular in Bangkok, bangKok... lol

Also, the most likes he ever got at once was a few weeks ago... not last year when he was on TLC. Whoda thunk it. But remember, we're all just haters... when we call out the obvious. We are jealous.

Hehe you'd think a teen like me would be pulling "try hard" stunts like this xD

So, can someone explain to me what exactly buying more likes does for a page? They're not real fans, so you're not getting more business... you look like you have fans, but they're not real, so what are they getting out of this?

From my pov, it seems a pretty silly thing to do, and makes them look bad. But I'm also not someone with a fan page, and I have no idea how it all works.

just inflates your numbers so you can claim to have the fans. I wrote a whole post about it here: http://mernetwork.com/index/showthre...ny-look-Stupid

Wow. It really is completely pointless, and kind of sad. I would rather have 0 likes than 1000 fake likes

Thanks, Raina. So... it's pretty much exactly what I thought. And the title of your post on it really is accurate, it does not reflect well on those doing it.

    Holy fins!
I thought this discussion was dead but after installing tapatalk I found it again and I saw what was going on and.....
I really have no words for it....
I saw the posts on Raina's FB page but I thought they were standing alone articles but now I connected all the pieces and.....how sad!
Call a delusion is too much for it?
Because people doing that kind of things don't deserve all this importance for me.
