octopus interest check!

I've always been in love with octopi, I think they're really cool and the way they look is seriously neat.

Would anyone be interested in polymer clay jewelry of these little guys? Hand painted and sculpted of course, I was thinking rings, bracelets and armbands to start since those are relatively small.

Then probably branching out into larger pieces like necklaces.

Whatcha think?

Im a total octo-freak, i just love em! I once had this tiny black and white striped octo-baby slowly crawl over my hand while snorkeling , it was so tiny and gentle and just slowly slid over my hand with its tiny tentacles wrapping and releasing around my fingers, it was so small it could fit into the palm of my (rather small) hands , i wantsss eeet!

Something like this maybe, but small enough for a ring would be nice. Or maybe an octopus design carved into cameo for something a little more classic victorian pirate mermaid

That's exactly what I was thinking actually! A tiny octopus hugging onto the finger. I've been messing around with sculpting directly into a ring mandrel.

Good to hear! So currently they're going to run about 20 dollars, hand sculpted and painted. Is hat something people think is reasonably price or should I make them cheaper?

The upside with the 20 or 25 dollars ones is that each one will be one of a kind and hand sized for you. No one else will have exactly the same piece.

However, he price is liable to eventually go up, and I'd I simply made one and then caste a them in resin, I could send out a ton for 10 or 15 dollars.

I think its reasonable, depending on how much shipping will be. Or if it's inclusive in the price. That's only if you actually plan on shipping overseas though.

I think you should charge according to the amount of materials used at first, and then later work on a standard price that should cover all your expenses and allow for a decent return.

I would love either, but will they be adjustable? I have tiny bird bones and, as such, most people's bracelets and watches fit my upper arm.

I feel the bird bone-I-ness. I'll either make them in sizes or with a way to make them adjustable. That's why I was thinking soft foam cause that would allow an elastic to be threaded through all of it and attached to the arm of the person.

I'll play around with it!!
