Thread: Mertailor Problems

    Question Mertailor Problems

When my realistic Mertailor tail arrived i tried it on and the back of the tail comes way to low.
Does anyone know how i could correct this problem?
Also, when i was in the water, the water kinda collects all in the fluke dragging it. That could be because the tail does not fit right and is not snug at the waist and the water is getting into it. Any advice or suggestions?

Do you know what your realistic tail is made of? The really only way to get the fluke to not balloon up is to glue it down on the inside. If it's too short on your butt, I tried everything. The only thing that worked for me was adding another piece. Water goes in the waist regardless of how tight it is, but if you glue the fluke down it wont collect there and drag. Best thing to do first would be to email Eric and see if he can do something for you.

Also suggest checking your measurements and cross checking them with the measurements you gave the Mertailor.

When ordering a Silicone Neoprene Tail from The Mertailor make sure you measure yourself at least 3 times to make sure your measurements are the same and correct and plus neoprene stretches so you can either make your measurements tight or a little lose and if you don't want your tail to go up to your hips part make it go up to your waist by measureing waist to floor with your hight but than go to the next number I just ordered one from him again my second tail my first one didn't turn out so good because it was very lose because of my measurements but this second tail has a little tight of my measurements so when I'm in the water it won't fall down. And to make the fluke not bubble up with water in it by silicone waterproof tube at walmart that helps.

This post is well over a year old. And the tails aren't made of neoprene. They're neoprin.

Wow old post haha. But no mertailor has never used neoprene in his tails. He used to use Neoprin and now uses "'Neoprene like' backing/lining spacer" as quoted from his website today which is probably a fancy name for the same stuff basically.

I so love the way he made your tail, it looks like a perfect fit and your fluke doesnt look like it retains water in it simply beautiful -Annwyn

I have bought a partial and a basic and neither one has real neoprene, it is this spacer-thing which is a bit similar with neoprene but still nothing like it, water flows through it cause it has these small fibers inside, it also drys very slowly after swimming, takes few days.
