    hair styles and tutorials

we dont really have a place for hair stuff so I thought id start a thread. We can share styles we think are mermaidy (or good for memen too!) but also if anyone has TUTORIALS for doing hair that would be great.

Some stuff I've found I like:

    tutorial: http://www.princesshairstyles.com/

    tutorial: http://www.ebeautyblog.com/2010/05/2...ded-bangs.html

    (no tutorial but pretty)

I love the side braid! I'm horrible at doing stuff to my own hair though

The Fish Tail braid/plait HAS to be added! Can't wait for spring to hit here and wear it more often!

    ooo! Ok:

This is one of my faves. It's called the Irish Wedding Braid. I like to start mine right over my ear so that it wraps around my head then comes down on the other side. When you do that, it looks like you have a rope and not a braid in your hair.

This is a multi part braid. It looks really nice when you only do it to the top part of you hair and leave the rest loose. tutorial: http://www.wikihow.com/Make-a-Braid-...-Three-Strands

Also, I really really love that first one you posted, Raina! I cannot wait to try it out!

A lot of braids and things like that can be adapted for shorter hair. For example, if your hair isn't really long enough to do something like a fishtail braid, simply start your braid at the front of your head and braid it into you hair in the same manner as if you were french braiding. It take a bit of practice, but once you learn to convert one or two braids this way, the rest become very easy to do.

I also really like the fairytale braid. It is demonstrated here by Torrin Paige: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-VtZ2ps-yrg . It's super easy to do in essentially any hair length.

I used to have the problem of my headband (shell tiara) falling off whenever I was underwater. I fixed it by having a couple of chunks of hair go over the top rather than under it, then braided into the rest of the hair, anchoring the headband

^ hey! Thats a pretty smart idea..what school of fish did you swim with? LOL

Here is one of my favorites! It's simple but with a few mermaid inspired clips here and there it rocks!
