Yeah, he posted in one of the pods saying that you didn't have to be there to win.. then he deleted all the posts and included that you it was for attendees only, and that you have to be present to win. I had the payment page up for tickets when I saw his repost, glad I saw it in time. Still..

Now for me that puts the icing on the cake. I am sure that I am going to try my hardest to get there no matter what. I might stand a good chance to with this. I could use a new tail.

I was ready to get a bunch of tickets too, but unfortunately I cannot make the Luau (Sunday night) which is when it will be announced. Have kids to tend to and its a school night and all...LOL

I was reading the line of events at the meet up an saw something about a Merfolk Masquerade Ball. Now I understand that it is black tie. Do we have to wear a tux or just our best dress clothes? An the masks, are they provided or do we have to make one ourselves. Sorry for all the questions but this is a first for me.

I talked to Chris about that. Mermen can wear suit, tux, or land tail. Masks are required and you bring your own =]

MERMAID OLYMPICS

"Where merpeople inspire with their merfeats of strength! At the Mer-Olympics, we believe every merperson has a skill and talent that is valued, and we believe in rewarding those who strive for merexcellence with merdallions.”

We are happy to announce the first every "Mermaid Olympics" will be held on Sunday, January 5, 2014. We will be awarding one of a kind mermaid medallions designed by Robin Grattidge to the top three scoring teams. The games will consist of the following events:

1. Bubble Blowing
2. Underwater Lyrical Dance
3. Underwater Pod Lyrical Dance (Team Event)
4. Mertender Carrying
5. Mermaid Golf
6. Dinglehopper Dive
7. Siren's Call
8. Flounder... Flop on the Deck like a Fish
9. Trident Toss

The events will be broadcast during the games so that those above the water can see what is going on under the water. We will open up the games for competitors on November 15, 2013. Good luck!

This is a general question just to clear my curiosity as this will be my first meet up. I know that most of us are going to the aquarium for the day trip an then there is the ball that some are not going to. An some fenders will be there as well. Besides that what else is there to do besides swim an have a good time.
