Blackfish casuses Disney to change ending of Finding Dory

It seems Disney subsidiary Pixar studios is working on a sequel to Finding Nemo called Finding Dory.

It had been leaked that the film would end with the cetacean characters end up happy and safe in a marine park.

Well, with all the buzz that's about around Blackfish, the studio heads asked gabriela Cowperwaithe to screen the movie at pixar studios and also met with her for discussions about her film and marine parks.

The upshot is, they're changing the script, to s sort of unsatisfying ending where the animals can leave the park, but maybe they'll change it further as production progresses.

I will be glad if they change it. While I do believe in the educational value of aquariums and the necessity of preservation projects, if by "Marine park" they mean ANY place that keeps dolphins and orcas simply for entertainment value, well, those places just piss me off. Personally I would MUCH rather go diving and see sealife in their natural habitat than through a pane of glass or from the bleachers above a tiny whitewashed pen.
Once upon a time I was known as Seavanna. Going by Seatan these days. I always wanted to be the high lord of underwater hell.

Glad they changed it. I threw up a little in my mouth while watching blackfish. I will never go to sea world again so long as I live and will encourage others to never go. Dolphins, Orcas, and other marine mammals were born to be free. I think I would turn psychotic if i was ripped away from my mother as a child, bullied and bitten while being kept in a small enclosure when i was in my teens, and was then forced to preform in a slightly larger enclosure for the rest of my life.
