it's one of my favorite silly Goth songs, that one and "If I only were a Goth". And, you know, anything by Voltaire

Gothy alternative type here, I like rococo, victorian, Lolita and a mix of styles. But at the end of the day i'm 'me' <3

The great thing about Goth clothes is that there are so many different subgroups there is something that suits everyone. Carousel Moons dress is a Victorian Romantigoth look.
Take the wave now and know that you're free
Turn your back on the land face the sea
Face the wind now so wild and so strong

I don't suppose you happen to know of any list that shows different styles? I'm always super interested in fashion styles and their subgroups

And as for anything Goth like, the closest I have is my Sugar Skull Mermaid. Recently debuted this year. XD
    Steampunk mermaid is epic!
I've always been a little Goth, always will have a fondness for dark eyeliner and ripped fishnets.
As for darker mers, I find them more true to mermaid legends historically. While I love my unicorn-friendly sweet fairy-tale mermaids, the dangerous ones are just as awesome. They're water creatures, and water can be treacherous.

Melaina, you'll be pleased to know that you don't even have to stick to a category. Goth is a very do-your-own-thing subculture, free expression is completely encouraged. Use whatever you want to as a starting point and then find your own style from there. ^_^

Talia, that's a brilliant list! Turns out I wear a lot of "hippy goth" already. I'm 100% a poser, since I don't follow much else from the goth lifestyle, but I love the aesthetics. It's also cool to recognise the styles of people I know

    Thanks, Naufra; glad to know!

@SINicallyTwisted : I adore your sugarskull mer outfit!

@PhaylennMurúch I suppose romantigoth would be a word to describe it though I wear all sorts of things, i'm a big 80's nut (neon colours don't really seem gothy lol) but still, love long dresses and lace, cameos etc...if you look closely though, you can see my 80's eye makeup hehehe
I don't get much opportunity to dress up much anymore, (work, and going to horse paddocks etc) but when given the chance I try go all out.
I do have short short skirts for going to gigs but i'm still trying to gather confidence wearing those..for someone who started out at age 16 and then two decades wearing layers of skirts and even trousers underneath..ya..short skirts are scary XD they look nice though.

my other dress; This is really heavy, lots of lace, only wore it once for this shoot, then it's been hidden away over winter so my red hair wouldn't run on it.

NM. Circumstances have made me decide to leave Mernetwork, I'd rather not have my pic here. Happy trails, all.

Awww thanks for the kind words!

My Sugar Skull Mermaid (Gothika de Los Mer'Tos) now has a mask since that pic was posted, which I think looks way better than the face makeup up that omg took hours to do. Makeup & attaching rhinestones, one by one....phew! Much less time consuming with the mask now.

I have loved it since I found it! I seem to recall it was actually a goth artist the one that was working on it. And she keeps updating every once in while. The Tribal Goth was a recent addition
