I want a bright red one. Or neon orange! Basically I want the same colors as a poisonous fish!

Sharks can still mistake a swimmer in black for food cos they'll think we're seals. Seals are black/greyish.

If not, can wetsuits be painted? What type of paints to use?

I used Lumiere paint, as its a fabric paint, as long as the wetsuit isn't just pure rubber (which would hurt)

To Mr Shark, swimmer in black wetsuit is, OMNOMNOMNOM Delicious!

    http://www.gizmag.com/shark-mitigati...-system/28368/

You should buy a wetsuit that lets you blend into the sea water. Their feeding pattern is based on sight. Sure they can smell you, but if they can't see you, less likely to be attacked than someone wearing an all black wetsuit.

yea, that's one of the reasons why my current wetsuit is blue.
When I'm underwater (not up in the surf), I blend in really nicely with the environment.

But mostly I'll swim in lakes anyway, so I can wear my favourite colour: white.
If the manufacturers would come off their stupid black-trip, that is.

My wetsuit is gray because it was at a huge discount. I agree with everyone who said that wetsuits are all black and gray because stores don't stock a huge number of wetsuits and they want the ones that they do stock to be as generic as possible.

I wish I could have a wetsuit that looked like Aquaman's costume. Shockingly, after doing a Google image search I couldn't find a single image of an Aquaman themed wetsuit. There are wetsuits that look like Superman's costume though. How backwards is that?

yea, they could at least make a merman-themed suit

    THE Mer-Man, I mean.
It wouldn't be difficult, and such spikes on top of the hood would for sure look less derpy than the usual ones

(I heard there are pink Japanese suits which have bunny ears or mouse ears on the hood, but I couldn't find them )

Oh, I just found startrek-uniforms as wetsuits!

    http://www.coated.com/star-trek-wetsuits-93640003/

20 years ago, I would've been all over that lol!

Anyway, I also found a Japanese manufacturer who does any colour under the sun, but the suits are primarily designed for skimboarding.
Anyone has an idea whether that'd be viable for diving as well?

I would choose the super-duper-warm variant, but skimboarding is quite different from swimming/diving

    That's so geeky...
And I went and looked and liked them!

How bout these? Evangelion Plugsuits! All you need to complete the look is a fancy set of water guns!

There is even a pink one.

I can't remember how it exactly looked, but I think it was the standard "pink body, greyish arms"-suitmodel on the market?

I can fit into a size 32 men's jeans, so that would be a "S".

I know what you mean Caltuna, all these wetsuits still aimed at men... Women dive too!

^^it's not even a wetsuit, it's a bathing suit made from neoprene.
A shorty has at least arms sometimes.

Good luck venturing into colder waters with that

I won't be buying a wetsuit till I start swimming in the ocean. Which will be a very very long time, as I'm still catching up and practicing my swimming!
