SCUBA Nostaligia- Home Movies of Diving in the 1950s

I came across this video of a family's collection of 8mm home movies of diving in the 1950s in Puget Sound.

The earliest movies were taken before the invention of wetsuits (mid 1950s) and you can see the dry suits made from chlorinated latex rubber like were discussed here http://mernetwork.com/index/showthre...ll=1#post74053 and here http://mernetwork.com/index/showthre...tex-Non-Sticky

In the later movies neoprene wetsuits make their appearance.

I find it interesting to note that the men all go diving while the women stay on shore and watch the children and cook.

Also, check out the 1950s cat-eye glasses! Nostalgia at its best.

I had goosebumps watching this. To be honest, I don't wanna see myself using those suits. I mean, they were pretty stoked with the equipment that they have back then but I'm just so glad that we didn't get to use chlorinated latex rubber. They just look so awkwardly uncomfortable.
