So here is my new top in the making. Or my first that is.. also making earrings.
Will sew and glue my shells, maybe paint them. Also gonna add more small shells, pearls and beads.
Hoping this crisscrossed back will do the trick for supporting my girls.

I made myself a new tail and decided to make it a matching scale top. This was my 1st time making a top like this

That looks awesome! Does hot glue hold up to water? I'm sort of unsure how to make my top because I figured anything I hot glue won't last.

Hot glue will not hold up in water, use e6000 and make sure you allow it to cure properly

I just bought a tube of e6000 cause thats what most mers use for gluing things.

To answer your question: No hot glue does not hold up well underwater.

Thanks! I'll look into that! I made a bunch of stuff with hot glue, but it was never meant to swim in so it worked okay for that... but good to know what to actually use!

So many beautiful tops so many ideas. Looking at all the netting and being glad i can crochet fishnet myself.....love doing net with gradient thread or bands of colours..... RAINBOW FISHNET FTW!!.. Also being able to crochet lace looks like it'll come in handy, there's a particular one i've made before that looks very seaweedy:

My abalone top!!! I used pearlex rubbed into the shells and then sealed eith a clear spray paint! Hard to see, in fact might add more later, i brushed out some twine and added it to the outside edges!
