Thread: Ordered a tail from TAILZmermaidgear on Etsy!

Ordered a tail from TAILZmermaidgear on Etsy!

I'm posting this because I noticed that this company isn't listed under "buying tails." I've never bought a tail before, so I wanted to start cheap, to make sure I liked swimming as a mermaid before I spent a lot of cash on it. I bought a monofin tail from this seller. (this one, in red: https://www.etsy.com/transaction/188816703?ref=fb2_tnx_title) Is this a good place to start, mers? Has anyone else bought from this seller before? Thanks!

I haven't bought from them but I think you made a good decision to go cheap first! I've got one of their swimsuits (the green & purple Ariel one) in my favorites, they'll make them custom to measurements...I'd love to purchase one, I love that style, but I don't know when or if it'll ever happen. Definitely post a review when you receive it!

They must be using a Finis Mermaid monofin. I don't know how else they could see it for so cheap, and the fluke would not otherwise be so small. That'd be my only concern, but funny enough, not for myself- my feet are small and would fit the Finis Mermaid fin. It's made for kids and rather small. And check the reviews.... the kids love them, but one person says they didn't realize it would be so small. They have an adult modeling the tail, so... how could you know the monofin will fit you unless you ask the size?

Other than that, having never heard of them, and seeing that what they're offering is probably not too good to be true... I just think they must have gotten a deal on the Finis monofins they're using, or the price would be higher.

ETA- Just as an FYI, below is the Finis Mermaid monofin. Since every other fin Finis makes is larger than the fluke on the tail pictured, you might ask what kind of monofin they're using, and make sure it will fit your feet. The site says, "Ideal for children 12 and under, the Mermaid Fin fits shoe sizes male 1-6, female 2-7."

I sent them my shoe size and my feet haven't grown since 8th grade. I think I'll be just fine learning in one of these. The rest of the measurements are custom as well. I'm going to review it as soon as I get it. If it doesn't work, well, live and learn.

Right on. I hope it works out. If it's a good review, they'll get more sales from here, that's almost certain.

Here's that swimsuit they have in their shop I mentioned and can do custom sizing for it: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1788115..._home_active_7

I've read elsewhere that they're not made of the same materials as regular monofins. So be careful with wearing and handling.

Perhaps I should have posted this before I bought it? Hmm... Well, who knows! Maybe it'll work out after all.

I got my TAILZMermaidGear tail today!

It fits like a glove, but it deFINitely won't fit larger people. I'm very, very small. I haven't tried swimming in it yet (it's still cold in Chicago!) but I will post a full review after I try swimming in it! I'd recommend this company to merlings and smaller mers.

My first tail is the blue one from the 2 tails. the same one pictured in mermaidbubbles12 photo. i havent ordered any others yet and in fact before vacation i actually played with it and added sequins and a bit of glitz to the tail as i bought it used and no monofin as the fin wouldn't fit my big feet. i ordered the finfun monofin. haven't swam in it quite yet.... Still new... so we'll see here
