Money for a tail

I'm saving up for a Merbella's tail =D and i have some money does anyone have some ideas for saving money/ getting money?

My only problem really is that i can't let either of my Parents know and I can't really save up with my money from my job because 1. they will find out and 2. I have to save up for a car.

If saving a money for a tail is going to be a problem with your parents ( as referenced in your comment '1. They will find out') then I suggest you wait until after you are out and on your own & have your own car.

Yep, I feel old typing the above but it's the truth. Perhaps start with a fabric tail first and get your parents used to the idea?

Unfortunately there's no quick and easy way to come by the amount of money you'd need for a Merbellas tail. (Well, there are, but they're not good life choices, so.) I'd second waiting until you're old enough to be out on your own/make your own financial decisions. Especially since a tail is not an easy thing to hide or keep from parents, and if they see it, they're going to ask where it came from.

Alternatively, can you try talking to your parents about it? Maybe you could work something out where you put 80-90% of your paycheck to your car fund, and the rest to your tail fund. It would be slow going but you'd get there eventually.

I've been in this situation, when I was living at home when I was young, and into cosplay. It's not worth it to get it now, save for the car. You need the car more. I always ask myself, "Do I have to make sure my parents don't find out about this?" if the answer is yes, then whatever I want is usually not the wisest thing to get at the moment, lol. Knowing me, anyway!

Plus, seriously. Get that car first and look into a nice painted fabric tail for now. Cars are way more useful!

I'm most def. getting the car first for now I'm just saving up any loose change I have for my tail fund, I currently have a fabric tail and they know about that and are fine with it but I think that they think I will grow out of it (Pfft... as if)
I just want to have the money together and put aside so that way I can get it when I can legally leave home. (My Dad has no problem with getting a tail, he actually helped me make my fabric one =) but my Mum is the problem, I have to hide everything from her because she just yells and screams and somehow she manages to know everything that goes on in the house...)

I suggest you just slowly fill up a jar in your room. What you want to do in order to actually save money is create a system. Choose an amount you will put in each week, and ALWAYS do it. Start small, say five or ten dollars EVERY week. It may not seem like much, but doing it regularly will add up much quicker than throwing in forty dollars one day then not adding anything for three months. If five dollars a week is easy to do, make it ten. If ten is easy, make it fifteen. Onward and upward. Then, whenever possible, put money in on TOP of your weekly payment--but NEVER skip a weekly payment. This will keep you active in your savings plan and keep you from "slacking." It will quickly become a norm for you, and you will budget around that money subconsciously instead of having to remind yourself not to spend that cash because you want a tail. This is the same advice I give to people wanting to start a savings account but feeling as if they can't because they can't afford to dump big payments in it. Having a regular payment is the key to saving and it DOES add up in the end!

I would ditto Seavanna's advice! When I was saving up for a new couch after getting my first apartment, I got an old peanut butter jar and cut a slot on the top, then glued the jar shut. I put in five bucks a week, plus whatever change was in my pockets at the end of every day. XD
