    Post 2016 Disney film "Moana"

This just showed up in my Facebook feed.

There's not a whole lot of information about the film there, does anyone know more about it?

    I'm kinda excited

yeah I remember hearing about it too. I hope it's animations and not CGI. CGI has been fun and all but I miss straight up cartoon. lol

Really? After TLM and Lilo and Stitch? I'd love to see an awesome Polynesian CGI movie!

The creative team behind Moana, which is CG-animated, has some serious Disney pedigree: Directors Ron Clements and John Musker also helmed The Little Mermaid and Aladdin among others.
It looks lovely. I am a fan of hand drawn animation, and I would have loved for this to be that, but this one still looks great so far.

Disney is going to have to work really hard to outshine Frozen. I cant wait for this

I don't foresee anything outshining Frozen any time soon. (Not in my world anyway!)

I'd just hate to lose out on hand drawn animation. I feel like Disney is phasing it out

It's easier to use technology. While hand drawn animation is amazing and it's what many of us grew up with and enjoy it's just not being used as often. Cartoon Network managed to ruin scooby doo by switching and making the characters look ... I can't even think of a good way to put it. It's unfortunate but I don't think Disney will doing anything hand drawn at least not from what we can see. I do enjoy the image though hopefully it's a good movie

    And cheaper

I will be greatly disappointed if they portray her as some delicate flimsy thing. Islander women are bold, strong and beautiful, generally speaking.

This is intriguing especially for me, as I'm (apparently) part Polynesian myself (Brazilian on my father's side)!

Also, this related article: http://www.dailydot.com/fandom/ten-b...ey-want-songs/ is about to springboard my new thread!

I'm so stoked for this movie since the moment they announced it. I love Disney and Hawaii so a movie with both is right up my alley. And it looks like hand drawn for now, which I also miss. I love Pixar films but I've had enough cgi. I've been nostalgic for some old school Disney animation for a long time. I honestly didn't find Frozen to be anything spectacular, in terms of storyline, music or animation. I'm hoping Moana will be a nod to retro Disney animation with Broadway-style musical numbers that have a Hawaiian theme. I miss original soundtracks with an orchestra backing.
