    The Misty Mermaid!

Okay, so I have been told I can buy one cosplay for a convention this year that takes place during the summer. The con hotel loves it when their mermaid cosplayers get together and take photos because they like to use them in brochures (with consent of course).

I would modify it a bit to include netting for a belt. But, I have the hair I just have to dye it and I am good at crafting with beads. My budget is $200 so I'm going with magictail.de for their fabric tail. They have parts you can replace and then I can buy the tail skins and build a collection.

I'm excited. Maybe I can make a Goldeen or Staryu to!

I'm a cosplayer too! Which con is this?

If you are decent with sewing, I would refer you to spandexworld.com, you can save a ton of money on tailskins, and the construction is super easy once you have a monofin and your measurements. (I cosplayed Atlantica Kairi on DA)

MTAC! It's really fun. This year there were a few mermaids. Though I can only find this one.

Sadly, my sewing machine is on the fritz. I was just starting to learn how to use it to. We think we need a new bobbin and we're having issues finding the exact type I need. Until I can get it fixed, I'm at a stand still. I have Fabric for my blue damsel tail, but I'm trying to save for a monofin and paint from my own money.

I think we like the idea of the tail being easily replaced or fixed. And I would like to get one just to see how it's printed/painted. It's a nice gesture to so I'm happy about it. My Ultimate goal is to have 1 homemade tail, 1 fabric, 1 sequin, 1 neoprene silicone, and 1 from Merbella's. It'll be easier for me to save in the summer. I tend to get more commissions and random jobs then.

Funny story: my tail was originally planned to resemble the surgeon fish, but looks very similar to the male blue damsel.

Cool! I'm hoping mine will look more like a Chiclid once I design the fins and dorsal. My brother has seen my drawings and called it the "Damsel Tail" so, until I figure out how to make it more chiclid-ish its a damsel according to him. *shakes head* Brothers.
