Alright, sounds like Aquarium might be a bit pricey for family trips. A place that we can also do shoots would be phenomenal. I'm going to be new to the area so Madison and Corabelle it would be AWESOME if you two have your fave beaches in mind!

My friend from Faire and her daughter who is an aspiring mer with her own little tail are most likely coming as well.

Not yet, I believe we'll be investing in one soon. But I don't know if we'll have it in time. The water here isn't very clear. But Corabelle said there's a place in rockport where the water is nice. But everything here is pretty close by. So I think we can adventure to a few beaches.

I have an underwater Nikon. I'm working on getting a different SD card for it that will also work with my photo printer so I can print quicker.

I have a digital camera & a water-tight case. As the mers from last summer's meet can attest, the pictures aren't great, but that can always be chalked up to user error.

I don't care about privacy. Photo shoots sounds like fun!! We can do that wherever though, right?! I just need to know what beach to try to set up a campsite on. I know there are some in some places where it as first come first serve, but others take reservations. I just want to be sure I have somewhere to sleep wherever we go, whether its a motel or campsite! I think I'd like to camp the first night, and then motel the second night. But if I knew what beach, I could book a motel. Just keep me updated!! (I'm getting excited!!)

Hotel room update. The prices of the hotels doesn't seem to be getting any better the closer to the date we get. I may be looking at other hotel options myself.

I just called and the best westerns are almost full.....and the campground there is full. I put in a message (email and phone) for them to call me back and perhaps I can find out if there will be any likelihood of any first come first serve space then...but its not looking great. So if anybody knows anyone in the area and we could all squeeze into a VRBO rental, that might be an option!! LOL (vacation rentals by owner dot com). Let me know if you're interested and how many people in your party and I can scout it out. So far here's what it looks like: lots of places around there, for about $125-150/night with a 2 night minimum stay. Me and my kids are clean and well behaved, and we can put people on the floor if we need to!

Ok I was finally able to figure out a good phone number for M.I. State park. Their water and electric sites are all booked up, but its ten dollars per night to camp out on the beach, so we think we are going to do that! The motel situation will be pretty full so that won't even be an option if people don't hurry up and book because they are already getting fully booked now for a month out....

It looks like the rates are gonna be $59-79 a night for my employee rate down there. That is checking in Friday June 5th to Monday June 8th. All hotels will be at least 45 minutes from Mustang Island State Park.



Let me know if you want me to book another and how many nights.

Looks like my plans are changing- I was cast in a show in Dallas, so I MIGHT make it down for the 7th (and I'm staying with friends the 8-10th in Portland, about 30 minutes away.) The 7th is up in the air. #freelancelifestyle
