Thread: Better Body Goals-Accountability Thread

I'm not perfect, but when I see the lump of fat around my waist that makes it difficult to fit into my tail and spills over the top of my tail, I figured I needed to do something.
I was measured for my tail when I was anorexic and about 119 lbs (BAAAAD IDEA). So when I started eating again-even if it was only a little bit of food, everything stuck to me, and I bloated to somewhere in the 130 range. When my manager stopped getting me gigs and didn't tell me why, I figured there was a reason behind it that he wasn't telling me. So here I am, determined to lose the weight, the fat around my midsection, and get all of my muscles back that I used to have. I was muscular and 118 lbs two years ago, I can do it again.
And I left that company, btw. I manage myself now, and I'm going to be one awesome mermaid who is going to get gigs on her own!

*sheepish hello* It's no secret to those who know me I'm not a "little" mermaid. Although I am proud of who I am I'd like my pre-preganancy figure back, the body my husband fell in love with. At the start of my mermaid journey I was almost 280lbs at only 5'1, now (3months later) with a few eating changes along with tail practice twice a week I've managed to 256lbs. Nowhere near the 170lbs I was before the birth of my beautiful baby boy. So I'm hoping with this I can really buckle down and drop the weight over the cooler months so come next summer this mermaid will make a splash!

You can do it! Kudos on your progress, Kaguria.

In my two-leg form, I love me some pole dancing. But after 2.5 years at it, I'm still struggling to push past feeling so amateurish. In my videos, it looks hard because it is hard for me, not because I'm rocking the most challenging moves. My core strength is, and always has been, nonexistent. I'm hoping that all the swimming will help wake up some of those muscles. Yesterday I did a couple handstands in 5 foot water to see how long I could hold my fluke out of the water. I am feeling the burn today.

No I work in a bookstore, I'd say maybe an hour or so a day because of my roommates scheduling I'm usually at work, on the road, or entertaining my two yr old

I have the next few months to get toned up, and lose body fat. As far as size goes and the numbers on the scale, I don't really care. What I do care about is the shape of my body, and my flexibility, which sucks. I started taking dance classes, and I've lost some of the extra fat around my face, and am getting closer to doing the splits, but I still have a long way to go.

I want to tone up, and exercise, eat healthier, and basically just be a fitter me.

Been working around 70+ hours a week, and gained a little of the weight that I had previously lost back due to this. Still, it was only a little bit, and I've managed to pretty much maintain my weight. I'm not climbing as often, but I am climbing much stronger now, and getting back into swimming. I'm also training for an obstacle course 5k run in November (it's a ROC race), and I'm really excited about that. My body is under too much stress as it is with work, but once I'm down to 1 job instead of 2, I'll probably start counting calories again and training more seriously. Right now I can barely manage yoga and climbing once a week. Fortunately, my diet is rock-solid after years of learning what my body needs.

Lazy girl fitness! She just does little things while she's cooking, brushing her teeth, etc. Good habits to build too!

Hi everyone! Having an a-typical issue here. I'm 6'0" and 125 lbs, and I'm having trouble eating. I was 135, but recently food just doesn't sound good. I don't and didn't have any desire to lose weight, but one day it just became really difficult to eat- everything felt like it stuck in my mouth, when I eat I get super bloated and uncomfortable, and food makes me feel sluggish and tired. I've been struggling to eat one meal a day, and it's not good.

I'm on an oral medication for MS that makes my stomach very sensitive, but I'm trying to figure out what the triggers are... seems like only smoothies and salads don't bother me. Going to try to cut out gluten and dairy since those seem to be triggers for others and see how that goes. This girl is ALL bones right now and it's NOT pretty.

Oh I hope you feel better. Gluten was my problem, and the bloating and fatigue were key signs for me. Hopefully that helps. If it does, then switching to a gluten-free diet can seem intimidating at first, but ends up not being such a big deal once you know a few foods to substitute.

Thanks I did go to a nutritionist and they said I should't have to worry about gluten unless I have celiac, but every time I eat bread I feel gross. :P
