The front is the part with the orange/red big dragon scale belly. Saw merbella's style and loved it. I'd never considered it on a mermaid before. The the fins that start on the hips will wrap around and come down parallel to a similiar back dorsal fin. Still working out what/how to do/style the fluke. I wanna put a Mahina Merfin in it so I'm working around that, I don't mind trimming the monofin but I don't want to go too crazy with it.

My next tail is also black. Still have lots of the black printed fabric leftover... I bought 10 metres at that time!
This one will have only one seam and one long fin down the back.

Ugh! My scribbles look terrible compared with other people's drawings! Obviously not a Merbellas tail, I just used the template cos I can't draw.

I... do not know. Um... I should have thought about that. I was thinking the aesthetic part of tribal design, I had no idea behind the meaning.

Or Celtic designs. Some ideas could be your name, peaceful words like love, harmony, peace etc. Try a word translation site, that might give you ideas.

You don't want to be one of those people that go get for example, Chinese words tattooed on them and end up with some weird or rude translation that they didn't ask for!

Hebrew calligraphy would look really pretty (the modern style Hebrew calligraphy I've seen looks almost like elvish. It's pretty awesome). And I don't think there'd be any other mers out there with it on, and definitely, the number of mers who could have it would be very limited.

I think that's fine, if you don't use an actual character from an actual script. Modify lots of different scripts and make your own "mermaidy" one

Though, the idea of an actual language on your tail is cool, too! Like a mermaid tattoo!

I myself am into things such as the ogham alphabet and am now curious as to how that would look if I maybe modified it (as ogham is basically just lines) into a more artsy style BUT spelt something out...hmmm. Doubt I'll ever use it on an actual tail as I've never made my own tail nor plan to really and already have an idea in mind for when my tail is perfectly made...

It's a neat idea and looks great actually!
