The Brave Mermaid Story Time

I'm sure most of you know about the amazing Mermaid Kariel and the book she's written "The Brave Mermaid" and how her mermaid team does big story times reading the book and selling on location. Does anyone know if she has allowed other mermaids to use this book during their own story time gigs? I live in Ny far away from her team in Florida and have been looking for a book to read during mermaid story time in local libraries so I was just wondering if she has ever expressed that she would only want her own mermaids to use the book for gigs? It's completely understandable if she has and I know there are plenty of other books out there to use but I was just curious if anyone else has used it for gigs or even asked her? I'm not sure if she only wants her team reading it or if she'd appreciate her work gaining attention where it's currently unknown and having the info to purchase it from her stores on hand in case any parents were interested? Ideas?

Yeah, her book's really cute! I visited Hawaii last year and kind of stalked her story-time [ps her tail is GORGEOUS in person]. It even comes with colouring pages at the end! It sends a great message about self-esteem <3

You can absolutely use her book for your own story time! She also has this package deal on her website where you can sell the books at your story time event and you keep the profit. You can check out that program here. In Hawaii some of the libraries that have a story time program will let you sell your merchandise after you do your thing. I've only visited the NY libraries in NYC and Troy so I don't know about the libraries in your area but I think it's a pretty neat (and brilliant) idea.

Yep you don't have to be one of her partnered mermaids to do this. I think the profit/selling is different everywhere (location, how you're selling, etc).

I read she already gets a lot of messages from fans and Im still so new I dont want to bother anyone past questions on here.

I would contact libraries in your area to see if they are cool with you selling merch after your storytime and go from there. I'm sure there will be some that say yes and and some that don't. Some will also give you a bit of money for doing it. And maybe just order the smallest amount from there and see what happens? She will also give you notes on how to perform in front of kids with it

Thank you for your help : ) I have my first big paid event at the end of January and would like to reinvest my payment back into getting more gigs so I'm thinking this could be how I do it. I think I've sold a couple books at every library storytelling I've done that has let me sell. It's a good book to read during the story times the way that she'll help you read it. You don't have to be a part of her team to read the story at a library, to say you are a mermaid on a mission and part of her team then you do, but honestly if you email her and say Reading Brave Mermaid book at library in the subject she should get back to you within a week.
