Thread: Trouble with sizing?

    Trouble with sizing?

hi! I just got my new neoprene but I can't draft my pattern yet because I'm not sure if I should use measurements taken with my monofin on or with it off. I ask this because last time I used measurements with mono on and since I'm slightly bow legged I then had a giant gap between my calves and when I got the tail wet the gap would fill with a lot of water and drag me down and would also sink in and I've noticed no one else's tails have this gap.

Maybe tie your legs together at the knees, then measure?

The problem isn't my knees though, it's my calves, my calves turn outwards and so they don't have only a small gap like most people, I have a larger gap

Measure with the fin on. If you decide it's too loose, you can take it in, but letting it out is much trickier
