Okay, get a grip, get the hang of this flipper,
It's like slipping two feet into one big huge slipper.
I can't believe I can do this and more,
To swim in the sea like I walk on the shore.
Out of my shell not closed up like a clam,
Look out sea, this is me, here I am....

I am loving what you've done. Please keep it up! Such beautiful work.

SO I've been gone for a month lol wedding planning and such but I finished my tail this past week with much work and desperation lol I did most of it in a week. I'll post pics separately!

it was super light and perfectly flowy! I was one happy mermaid! I do have to adjust my waist since I lost some weight and fix a few scale gaps. I barely had to move my fluke and it would ripple and fold and flow with so much life and character on its own!

Oh my gosh that tail is gorgeous! I love the gold with the green! I'm doing some green and gold for my tail too! But I'm going for a more olive green on mine.I just devoured your thread in about 30 minutes!
I noticed you said that the sun helped your silicone to cure faster? How did you go about doing that? As soon as I move this coming weekend, I'll be pouring silicone, so I'm reading up on it as much as I can to avoid as many big boo-boos as possible.

Heat makes silicone cure in a jiffy! I also used a heat gun to speed up the process but you gotta be careful not to burn or melt fabric or plastic nearby. Also to save you the wallet ache of wasted silicone keep a ceramic dish in the freezer (or two so you can alternate) and it'll keep any mixed silicone from curing until you use it all and apply heat. SUPER useful tip a friend gave me and I can't believe I never thought of it XD instead I just froze my poor toes off trying to keep my apartment at 70 or so with it be 100 outside lol

Awesome! It's not quite 100 in GA yet, but it's in the high 80s-low 90s. Maybe I can set mine out in the sun and they'll cure faster! I was hoping to pour everything this week, but trying to pack up our apartment.. There's just no space to work. So everything's on hold.
But your tail! Both of them, my gosh they're gorgeous. I love how unique they both are! Fin-tactic job, Sammi!!
