So please be extra patient with Raven and any other tail makers in Florida!

How big is this storm? I have not been paying attention. I grew up in Florida, and unless it was a Cat 3 or bigger, a hurricane was just an excuse to stay home and party.

Anyway, if Floridians are freaking out over it, it must be big. Stay safe!

Thanks guys! They finally decided to close Disney where I work and not open tomorrow. So you KNOW that's big. For now it's a cat 4. Hopefully it will decrease.

As Raven announced on Facebook that she is on temporary hiatus for taking new orders, I am asking the regular customers as to when in your opinion she will start taking orders again as I sent an email with no response and I am aware the difficulty of receiving replies from Tyler.

I'm still presently saving by all means I am not expecting a turn around in a month's time to have my funding saved.

Thanks Raina, I wrote to Tyler for the first time and he replied next day, at the time of the reply from Tyler the loan money fell through :/ Hopefully my situation doesn't look bad in Tyler's and Raven's eyes when I attempt to place my order again. Working hard to make the savings happen, I'll still be at least 9 months away.

I'll be ordering the maximum; tail, x2 tops, x2 headdress, x2 earrings and so forth so I'll have a couple of tops and jewellery accessories to choose from.

Congrats Samantha, Raven is whom I have my heart set on for a tail for the last couple of years. I've finally graduated past the $1000 mark now *YAH* I am so thrilled

It's been a while since I've posted on the forums much (my day job is super demanding and takes me away from the internet for a lot of the year... but it's worth it for the job and also earning money, lol) but I just read through about 50 pages of this thread to try to get a better picture of what's up with Merbellas right now re: orders. I knew she wasn't going to be taking new ones from what she posted on Facebook a couple months ago, but only now did I learn about the whole drama/dogpiling thing... very sad to see what she had to go through, and no wonder she doesn't want to take more orders from the general public right now On top of having massive amounts of work to do for tails and her business, she got verbally assaulted for something the owner initially seemed fine with! Uhg.

Anyway... in the four and a half years since I discovered mermaiding, I'm finally in a financial place where I can think about investing in a silicone tail. Seems a little silly when it's just a hobby for me but I've been passionate about it for this long, so I don't think it'll fade Merbellas has always been my dream tailmaker, and I admit, if she decided to not do any custom orders anymore, I'd be a little bit heartbroken. It would be understandable since it would give her more time to work on her own ideas and less hassle of dealing with the public, but her premade stuff is never in sizes/measurements that work for me. But I've waited this long and if she needs a breather, I can wait a year or two or three, for the quality of art I know she produces. But if she decides not to do public orders anymore at all (or within the next 4 years or so) I guess it'd be worthwhile to start strongly considering another tailmaker like Finfolk or such.

So I guess that's the purpose of my post, just looking for guesses about her time span for not taking personal orders. I'm not looking for exact time frames and I would NEVER wanna bother her directly with questions with everything she must be going through right now with her family (my condolences to them all ), but I'm glad it looks like people here think she will open them again eventually I hope her time off is healing and refreshing for her!!! I'd rather wait a year to be able to place orders than hear she has burnt out and stopped She really seems like she is working nonstop. I hope even after she finishes her batch of orders she gets a couple months to work on her own ideas and get a vacation!!
