    Starting off young!

Hello all mermen and mermaids! I'm a amateur young teen mermaider, whom you can call Net (short for my real name). I come from the US and I am almost embarrassed to admit that as a younger child I never was VERY fascinated with mermaids, although I did like them. What brought me to the merfolk community was the fluidity and freedom in the feeling of gliding through the water, the magnificence of the tails, and the inspiration that it brought! I also want to start exercising more often, and what better way to do it than be a MOTHERFLIPPING MERMAID?! So yeah, I'm really excited to learn all the tricks and tips of being a merman/maid! So far I only have a fabric clownfish tail from Finfun, but my highest point that I want to get is a mermaid tail from Merbella, because I love their work.

    XOXO, Net

Hiya! Welcome to the network Net!

I'd say if you want to work towards a higher end tail - it's not too soon to start doing odd jobs like babysitting and lawn mowing as we get into the warmer months to start up a nest egg for when you're ready to advance from fabric to silicone. I work at a craft store, and had seen some kids make quick little craft stuff to sell at school, so there's a possible option as well on the side. There's also the added perk of asking for family to help pitch in with funds as christmas/birthday gifts to put towards the savings.

Just a few options on making a custom tail possible!

Welcome to the MerNetwork. Don't feel embarrassed about not being fascinated with mermaids growing up. I used mermaiding as my way to overcome my fear of water. It's the unexpected things in life that makes it so great.

    Thank you!

I am already doing cat-sitting and occasionally visiting my grandparents to help w/ work for money, but the only problem is that most of the money is going to my future trip to China. I really want to get to that point though and so thank you for the advice <3

    You are never alone.
    There are about
    7,266,786,800 people in the world.
    So mathematically speaking,
Even if your are one in a million there are still about
72,667 people who are just like you.
