I'm ready to try my hand making my own monofin, and I've got a pair of swim shoes with rubber soles already on hand. I was thinking I could use marine epoxy to attach them to whatever I decide to use as the fin. I want it to have some movement- not too stiff- so I am still playing with what the blade/fluke will actually be made from.

Has anyone used swim shoes before?
