    Thinking Thankfully

Thanksgiving is just around the corner and I was thinking... We have a bitch it out thread that focuses on all the negative things in life (not that it isn't cathartic!), maybe we also need a place to come to and think about all that we have to be thankful for. I know reminding myself of all the great things in life (instead of mulling over the bad) has helped me through a very difficult few weeks.

Personally, I am thankful for my amazing parents who love and support me all the time, for the good financial situation that I am in, for my dogs who are always happy to see me, and for a boy named Jorge who reminded me today that some teens really do care when he stopped by after school just to ask me how I was feeling. I am thankful that my seizures and mental challenges remain under control after so long and for how good McDonalds breakfast burritos taste! I am thankful that i can hear the rain puttering at my window, which makes me feel sleepy and happy. Most of all I am thankful that I have so many chances to try again in life when things don't turn out right, something not everybody has.

What about you guys? What are y'all gonna be thinking about as you dig into turkey and dressing?

I LOVE this thread great idea I'm thankful for figure skating, the best sport there is I'm thankful for my awesome teachers at school (particularly my math teacher). I'm thankful for my parents. Although they can be helicopters at times, I know they really care about me. I'm thankful for carrots, because they keep me away from potato chips LOL. I'm thankful for my house and comfortable financial situation. I'm also thankful for my sister, even though she drives me absolutely out of my mind. Lastly I'm thankful for mermaids, for being a refuge from the stressful world. Wait just kidding I have one more: I'm thankful for Mermaid Seavanna's brilliant mind which created this thread

There is a thread for just happy things, too. But it got lost. Perhaps this one will stick around.

I'm grateful that I do not seem to have a migraine today.

My 'beautiful, bratty' daughter is expecting. Thankful and trying to wrap my head around being a grandfather.

    ^ <3 Awww!

As for me, months of struggling and hard work paid off and I am OFFICIALLY out of the hole! Woohoo! Things won't be easy still- I lost $100 per month out of my already really small income because of govt cuts, and my goram Internet went up $20 more, but I'm at least facing these things while NOT in the hole. Woot!

Hoping I can start working out again soon. I've been able to eat enough again for a month or so. Such relief.

I'm thankful for my recent recovery from the flu. I'm still a bit weak, but I'm doing much better now. Also, somehow, even though I just lost my part-time babysitting job, there still seems to be enough money to go around from my husband's meager paycheck... I don't know how, and it doesn't add up, but we're somehow spending less money. I've actually started a silicone tail! It'll be a long process, as I'm buying materials as budget allows (also hand-making each scale from clay), but another thing to be thankful about
