You and me both, Milieu! It was actually research for a zora cosplay that brought me to the mernetwork in the first place. Then I just decided to go with traditional mermaiding. But I still love Zoras.
I have begun the squat challenge! Since I'm starting day 1 on the first day of a 30 day month, it shouldn't be too hard to remember where I am. I took pictures of my backside in a mirror in tight yoga pants, if I see a drastic change at the end of this month, I'll post before/after pics. Edit: well, not actually just the squat challenge--

    Haha! Zoras are awesome!!!

I might try out the thirty day challenge too since I don't really have any written workout atm....just going off memory of what we used for conditioning in gymnastics. P: I'm adding two different types of sit-ups to it as well. Since what is there will do nothing for my stomach muscles.

I could really use a nice butt for Mystique.... xD

I've also started cutting down on the amount of milk I drink. Used to drink it with every meal, but now its only for desert. Water and green tea the rest of the time. I'm curious what effect that will have, if anything noticable on my health.

Wow guys! All these before and after pictures has really got me excited to start my own work out

It's the first of the month so what a better time to try out the 30 day challenge? I'll put up some before pictures once I shrink them down to a smaller size.

hehe, I loved that 30 day squats challenge, but it was soo difficult! Gonna have to do it again sometime.

I am about to start upping the amount of times I run each week so I can start training for some half marathons and then full marathons.
Plus I'm starting freerunning in a few hours today, which will be amazing!

Update on the 30 day challenge: The first five days were horrible! I wasn't terribly sore, but my knees decided this would be a good time to complain (I got runner's knee a few years ago, and they've never recovered fully). I'm doing much better now, and now that the muscles are getting stronger my knees hurt much less. I can feel some 'steel' beneath the 'fluff' on my legs, and there's a bit less 'fluff' than there used to be. I've started adding in more arm work (only 8 pushups on day 8?? really?).

Well, I've lost 26 pounds since Christmas so that's good. Just have to remember to keep eating now. I had a really crappy weekend the guy I was dating was hit by a car and died on Monday morning from the injuries and apparently if all you do is drink and cry a lot for like four days you lose weight.

I'm really sorry to hear that Coradion, I know it's not the best to hear but perhaps try and work on your goals in an attempt to be busy and such.

For exercise I'm planning on toning myself up and losing a bit of weight around my middle, there's a belly dancing workout place near me (although I do want to go in a troupe) and I'll probably walk and do some skating again. I'm hoping to get a new job to go back to roller derby.

I really want an extra day or two of swimming. Its the only type of exercise I like doing!

So I've been looking at nearby local swimming pools... The YMCA ones, that I've so dreaded because there's kids there, well more than the club pool I've been going to. And the public pools always have a very strong chlorine smell.

Sometime next week, I plan to go without my fin, and just swim and check it out.

It's a 5 min walk to the pool from the train station, so that's going to be extra exercise. Get the blood moving and all!

After seeing some of those before and after butts on the first pages...I am so doing the 30 day squat challenge haha.

Also, I don't know if it was mentioned on here yet (as I didn't go through all 27 pages), a very effective workout is Pole Fitness. Yes -- that's a nice word for pole dancing!
Pole studios are popping up and more frequently, and it's definitely one of the best fitness classes I've ever taken. It seriously works every bit of your body (arms and core especially). I find doing pole very rewarding. When I was at a gym, before I went I'd always have that 'meh' feeling of how I really didn't want to drive to the gym, and lift weights or get on any machines and then go home.
With pole now, I find that I can't wait for the next session! I love my instructors, the friends you make in the class, and there is absolutely no judging. You also learn to love your body since there's mirrors everywhere, and you watch yourself do these incredible moves! You don't know some of the things your amazing body is capable of
We've had quite large ladies in class, and they seriously owned it. The oldest lady I've seen pole was in her late 60's.
The only downside is cost (some studios' classes get pretty expensive) and I know some studios won't allow men to join the classes.

If anyone is ever looking for a new fun and rewarding workout, I can't suggest pole enough. Many studios have drops ins or an introductory class for pretty cheap for people who are possibly interested in starting it up!

Thanks guys it was rough but getting better now.

Pole fit is great. I've done acrobatic pole dance for five years and its my favorite way to workout. I'm not there yet but my body is getting better.

I'm amazed at myself! I ran beside my niece on her bike and didn't once feel like like I was going to pass out!

We went all the way to the park which was a 15 min walk, but with me jogging and her riding her little trike.

I'm really glad even those once a week swimming times have finally paid off. Each time I go, I feel I have improved even by a tiny little bit.

Stay hydrated! Water is your best weapon against bloat

I admit, I've slacked off on staying fit. That said, I have been pushing myself in the pool this month, going several times a week and steadily increasing the speed and number of laps and the duration and difficulty (without hands, while distracted, holding weights, etc) of treading water, and I am noticing the beneficial effects. I'm going to have to get back into the swing of things with regular exercise as well, though, especially if I want to build up my strength and endurance.

Holy... Coradion, you're amazing. Your body looks amazing!

As for me, I finally (with a doctor's help) solved a medical mystery and while I'm still in recovery mode, it IS recovery and I'm feeling better. I think about working out every day but have not had the energy. I am finally feeling it.

I gained 15 pounds in the past couple months. SO unhappy about that, but that's what happens when you're laying around doing nothing because you're in so much pain.

So. I'm pretty sure tomorrow is my first day back at working out. I want back the body I'd achieved before the medical issue got so bad, and I want to keep going back to my goal and better. It's April, and 83 degrees here today, but I'd like by June to see myself happy in shorts or a bathing suit.

So that's my new goal. As long as my medical situation keeps improving, and I have no reason to think it won't.

This thread is so helpful! Keep up the great work everyone!
