I was going to put up an Etsy shop with these. In fact I did with a couple of them last year, but I ran into problems with the shipping calculator, and took them down to figure it out. I didn't end up putting them back on.

The time it takes to make these, and the cost of materials, using a basic Etsy formula, I'd have to charge about $100 for the blue one (the cultured sea glass sea stars cost about $5 and $3.50 depending on size), about $50 for the smallest one. A little less for the larger nets with shells, because the shells I use are all found shells from the beach I live at. They're hand-netted hemp.

I feel like it's not cost-friendly. But I wanted to share what I've made. I think whatever I do with these, I'll keep the black one for myself.

Sorry the pic quality isn't better. I don't have a camera at present, and my webcam software is acting up since I upgraded my OS.

So my towns annual shrimp festival was this weekend and they have lots of little markets/stands open at that time. They were selling these little charms for 3 dollars each so I had to buy all the mermaid ones and used old jewelry to make new necklaces!

Here's a simple headdress/ornamentation work in progress. Instead of trying to ditch my eyeglasses and be blind as a bat, I'm incorporating the glasses into the look. (I do need to get some bright turquoise glasses, but for now, these will do.) I have another hairstyle in mind to add volume, too.
