(Sold!) ON EBAY Silicone tail by FlipTails by Mike Van Daal! (Mermaid Melissa's Tail

Cruising ebay and just saw this:
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Professional...item27e7081694

    "
This auction is for a pre-owned, fully functional/swimmable, and extremely realistic Silicone Mermaid Tail created by FlipTails by Mike Van Daal!! This tail was previously owned by Mermaid Melissa. You can see the tail in action at: http://youtu.be/BN7zYDKOUAg andhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l__f2mBsCo0
FlipTails are made from high-end silicone with spandex mesh cast inside for added strength. It has a built-in monofin for high performance swimming. The tail has been created by mixing the pigment directly into the silicone, so there’s no problem with “paint” rubbing off. This tail is one of FlipTails Advanced “Splash” design which retail for $5700. It has a three color design, with specially designed fluke, 1 dorsal fin, 2 heel fins and realistic scale pattern.

This is a professional level tail. It is heavy weight and is one of the most beautiful and realistic tails made today. It is rugged, durable and will last for years. It is strong, extremely elastic (just like a rubber band), and well-made. It is buoyant-neutral, meaning that it will be nearly weightless when worn in the water. It will not make you sink, nor will it make you float. It also will not make you a better swimmer and is not a floatation device.

Silicone is a very durable rubber that has become a standard in the special effects industry. FlipTails use the highest quality silicone available on the market today. It’s extremely soft ("flesh like" feeling), very stretchy, and also allows the option to have realistic translucency in the fluke and fins. It is also UV stable. This tail also has a soft liner that allows freedom in movement, with no elastic waist band and no zipper.

Cheaper latex tails are also flexible, but do not offer as much stretch. Eventually over time, latex will wear down and become brittle, much like an old rubber band.
Save yourself from a 2 to 3 month wait time for a new tail with this pre-owned gem!

We bought this tail a year ago. We loved this tail and never even got to put it to good use, but unfortunately we must sell it because we need the money due to family health issues. This is a rare opportunity to own a high quality tail at a great price!

The unstretched waist is 29 inches. The unstretched hips are 36 inches. The distance from waist to ankles is 42 inches. The silicone stretches well and easily can accommodate hip and waist measurements that are up to 3 to 4 inches larger. It has a women's medium swim fin inside, which fits approximately sizes 5 to 8 shoe size."

    SWEET deal!

She got this tail right after I got mine. I remember we posted ours first and a few weeks later she did hers. So I think it is at least 2 years old.I'd be curious about the wear and tear.

I would advise you to buy it. This is the kind of opportunity that may not happen again anytime soon. Duty taxes is one thing and I respect that but you're this close to make one of your dreams come true, you may regret to let this chance go away.

In my opinion, that's fucking stupid and discriminatory

    It's not fair at all.

(^^ Heh, I know you don't say that often but any excuse for a Jareth gif is a good one)

As someone that has had to go through the process and unexpected costs of shipping large & expensive items overseas several times I can tell you it's a lot of hassle. If they can find a US buyer (and it looks like they have a bidder) then it's their prerogative. Trust me I feel your pain, there are a lot of awesome artists in Europe I'd like to purchase things from (off the top of my hear there is an amazing wig maker I can't buy from) but they only ship to Europe.

There has to be a way around it, no? Couldn't someone ship it from the US as a gift? I wonder what shipping/duties/taxes would be? It might be worth it for someone in the US to fly over with it as part of their luggage...I've seen really cheap flights to Europe. "Happy Merday! I brought you a present!"

I think more it's the seller doesn't want to deal with having to ship it overseas and then worry about it's arrival. You can totally ship tails worldwide but it's just a hassle.

The way I've seen it done in the past to get around it is have a US buyer/friend that will deal with the hassle of it, win the action and get the item shipped to them and then ship the item overseas. It's extra time/cost for shipping but if you want something bad enough...

Shipping overseas is a big hassle. The fees are ridiculous. All of ebays fees are super high

Well if someone can help me the end for that tail is the 14th of this month I really will pay for everything, if someone would be so kind to help my mermaid dream come true.
Moreover if someone send me the tail I think there is a way to avoid stupid duty taxes because if I am not wrong I saw someone saying that Raven could send out of USA something (sorry I don't remember everything) and the girl didn't pay for duty taxes because Raven wrote something on the box to avoid it.

Well anyway if someone would be so kind to help I would really be thankful for all my life!
