No, in most of Raven's personal tails she has a Finis Foil as the competitor is difficult to maneuver in her tank.

the competitor does not fit in her tank. She wore my tail once for a photo shoot (I encouraged her to) and it kept popping out and was super hard to swim with. My new tail from her will have a foil so I can choose between the two tails/monofins. I love love love my competitor but it is a real pain for turning (I have to take wide turns) and for underwater modelling (hard to fit it into the frame I am limited in my poses) and can be a pain in smaller wading pools as I bump into everyone with it. But nothing makes a fin slap on the surface quite like a competitor and it's also awesome for big pools, lakes, and oceans!

Thank you for the comparative analysis, Raina; after all, when one sees mermaid Madison in Splash! her competitor-like fluke doesn't exactly fit in the bathtub!

*Thinks its really cool to have Sainthood delivered like a Knighthood...lol* Now in order to actually be a Saint, one needs to have a) died and b) have 3 recorded miracles involving one's intercession (1 for Beatification, 1 or 2 more for Canonization), however it was common for people such as Saint Teresa of Avila to refer to certain religious people as living saints and patience is certainly a saintly quality!

I checked in with her today and she said she's just about finished a huge bunch and then I think it's just Michelle and I before she gets to the new batch of people she took on. Both ours are fairly custom so there some prep work that will go into it, but I am so excited for everyone and so excited for us!

I'm glad to hear this! As of tomorrow I have waited a yr & a half. :P

I havent heard from her since then and her online activity has been almost non-existant so Im sure she's up to her gills in mermaid work. >.> (the last thing I saw from her personal facebook was from July 11. She hasnt made a peep online anywhere else since that I see! And that was the last time she and I spoke too, hope she's not ill!)

I also heard from another mermaid that there is a shortage of competitor monifins right now (not sure if this is affecting her or not) because Finis gets some of their supplies for their competitor out of the ukraine and well, all the stuff going on over there. I guess another monofin company just couldn't offer one of their monofins anymore because they couldnt get them and didnt have a stock pile.

I have said before that if I ever become a saint (not that I'm holding my breath), I want my iconography to depict me in my upcoming Merbella​ tail, because that would look really cool in churches!

Has any clients heard from Raven lately? I sent an email around three weeks ago and haven't gotten an answer I know she posted pictures after I had sent the email so her computer was fine. I'm not sure if I should send another email or not I don't want to annoy or bug her but I would really like to know where the tail is in production, she sent an email on Memorial Day weekend saying she was priming it and hoped to finish painting it that week so it's been awhile.

I try not to bug her but after learning of the client email I worried my prior emails were lost in the fray of their main email inquiry traffic. Even then it took her a bit to reply. She apologized for her long silences, said she's been super swamped in the shop, and asked a few questions about my design preferences for clarification. I replied twice within a few days, once with my answers and once with a question pertaining to the design. Haven't heard back since then. I think she's just insanely busy between orders and her own performance work as a mermaid being in full swing during the summer months. Hope that allays some worry, though I know it does nothing for the ever building anxious anticipation.

Thank you so much I appreciate the response I hope we both hear from her soon! Summer is definitely a busy month for her I'm not sure how she manages to perform and make tails it's crazy!

Awww, poor Raven, hope she feels better swiftly. Lots of stress (even good stress) and working all the time tends to take a toll on one's immune system. Hope she gets some rest and takes good care of herself.

Raven and I both have autoimmune disorder which means it is far easier for us to get sick than the average person and stress makes it much worse. What a normal person can get through in days takes us weeks
