Anyone else heading to Atlanta Labor day weekend for DragonCon? Looks like there will be quite a few Mers there and they even have a planned schedule of events (copied from a post on FB):

Tentative Merfolk Schedule: (Share as you see fit)

8/28/14 - Thursday - 3p-5p @ Sheraton Pool - D*C Merpod Initiations - BYOTail or borrow one of ours with instructions provided and walk away with a certificate that makes you an official D*C Merpod Ambassador with all privileges and responsibilities assigned.

8/29/14 - Friday - 7:30p - 10p @ Sheraton Pool - Pin Up Pool Party - Merfolk as atmosphere in pool. All tails welcome (no altered states permitted in pool.)

8/30/14 - Saturday - 11:30a - 1p @ Sheraton Pool - Merfolk Open Swim - BYOTail or swim with Merfolk, enjoy fantastical conversations and contemplations of all things sea life related. BYO lunch as well.

8/30/14 - Saturday - 5p-6:30p @ Sheraton Pool - D*C Merpod Initiations - BYOTail or borrow one of ours with instructions provided and walk away with a certificate that makes you an official D*C Merpod Ambassador with all privileges and responsibilities assigned. Preparation for Night at the GA Aquarium - get tickets online ahead of time.

8/30/14 - Saturday - 7p - 11p @ GA Aquarium - gather and join us for a fun Merfolk night as land legged Merfolk. We are featuring Kentucky Derby type hats with a sea related theme. Aquatic, walking costumes welcome.

8/31/14 - Sunday - 1p- 5p @ Sheraton Pool - Merfolk Open Swim - BYOTail or swim with Merfolk, enjoy fantastical conversations and contemplations of all things sea life related. BYO high tea makings for a 3:30p tea with the Merfolk. Previous mentioned hats welcome.

9/1/14 - Monday - 9a - 10:30a @ Sheraton Pool - Merfolk Open Swim - BYOTail or swim with Merfolk, enjoy fantastical conversations and contemplations of all things sea life related. Final Pod Initiations, upon request, walk away with a certificate that makes you an official D*C Merpod Ambassador with all privileges and responsibilities assigned.

Right now I'm only planning on being at the Pinup Pool party on Friday night. Wish I could go to the aquarium but I'm performing in the burlesque show that evening (show isn't till midnight but a lot of prep work goes into it!).

@Blaze: Yep!! It looks like Dragon Con is the clear winner!! I'll be meeting and staying with friends there too. Everything is pretty much worked out except the fiances... but I can figure that out soon!! Soo looking forward to it!! Who else is going??

Heh lotsa costumes for me too; at least 2 a day. Wow, I just realized this is the 15 year anniversary of my first dcon...

I guess this will be the 10 year anniversary of my first DC. We'll have to have a celebratory drink!

So after a lot of thought and talking with hubby and roomies (I'm staying at a condo 2 blocks away) I have decided to *not* bring my new tail to the con this year. Not only do I have to change planes (worried about it getting lost/damaged) but with being two blocks from the event and not being able to even go under water in my tail (due to not wanting to have to re-dye my hair Saturday morning) it's just too much trouble for too little payoff.

I'll still be at the pool on Friday night, just in a different outfit. ;D I made this for FB, thought I'd share here too:

Heh I have too many incarnations of Mera I want to do as well but ti's sorta like switching out who gets to play what redhead among my con friends each year lol.
