Full Latex Tail - WITHOUT Neoprene

    Hello, World.

So, after searching through the whole Forum ( please let me know if i missed a thread) and finding nothing, i ask you:

Is it possible to make a Tail ONLY from Latex!?

I know it works with silicone , so why not with latex...?
There is fashion made from latex (even swimwear!) .
This would be the kind of latex i order, by the way: Liquid Latex for Fashion- i guess it has a few other features ( more stretchy?) than latex for masks.
To be honest: i already did a test order- should arrive today o,o

Do you have any experiences about that?

I know a whole latex tail will affect to the curing time. But this would'nt be bad.

I'm looking forward to your answers Thank you!

We already discussed this sometime ago (lol I actually think I was the one who brought it up ) It is possible, and recommended that you use power mesh because latex isn't as strong as silicone. Most silicone tails are even made with mesh for extra support. As for the type of latex, please use EXTREME caution when testing and working with this "fashion latex" personally I have never heard of it, but mask making is waterproof and has been tested. It works. So anyway, good luck! Just make sure to do a lot of tests before you do anything full scale (hehe punny) and hop in the pool

Hey no worries. I don't think it's been discussed a lot so this is a good resource for others

Well since I cannot read that, latex which is used in prosthetics such as masks and fake wounds would be best due to it being ok for skin contact

I know that mask makers are using this as an alternative to mask latex o,o ... its confusing. My thought is: when its used for skirts and dresses, it will be the perfect material to work with.
BUT i am going to see if i am right
I am still waiting for my package to arrive -.-

There is no harm in trying, but you just wouldn't want to spend a lot of money on something that won't work. Hence why we always say test everything before

I am curious, though, to see what a tail made from the sheet latex would look like. The kind usually for fetish wear seems pretty durable. Cutting round scales with a punch and adhering them, sequin-like, to a latex tail (like a fabric tail) could be very interesting! I know rubber cement makes a permanent bond because it causes a solvent-like chemical reaction with the latex.

So, the latex i am trying out right now is a kind of that sheets, only liquid.
Thats why i tend to use a zipper...
By the way: It arrived. First test scales are drying

Both tails I have made are full latex. No neoprene, no power mesh. I could easily add power mesh, but each tail didn't warrant it. My basic tails from this point may have it or not. Its a option that can be requested.
