Last year I was commissioned to create a headdress for a customer. It came out just as the customer wanted and she loved it.

Now, this summer the person that commissioned the headdress completely tore apart it apart. Ok, no problems with that, if that is what she wants to do. The problem I am having is that she not just recreated it, but used the EXACT pieces of the commissioned piece to make a headdress and has the audacity to call it 100% her own work. Even posted a video saying she found pictures on google images to use as inspiration.

Think I'm kidding, I have photo proof of the original and the recreation.

Note the pearl comparison between the 2. Though pearls were added, you can see the pearls from the original are still there.

And then there is the plants for the "fan". Which are exactly the same, only change was an additional branch or two was added to make it even (note the color difference between the main bulk and the ones on the upper and lower edge of the fan). You can also see the tiny little piece that hooks over the shell in both pictures.

Now, you're probably wondering why bring this here, why not talk to her about it. Well, I did. And she straight lied to me about it. When I first messaged her, there were several pictures of the recreated headdress, and several (if not all) photos of her wearing the original that AFTER I first messaged her completely disappeared (shame on me for not having gotten screen shots when I should have, only got one or 2 as I was rather upset). In the messages she insists that the headdress she ordered from me was in perfect condition, etc. And even sent a picture. Well, I looked through my screen shots and her photos, sure enough the photo was there originally but not after she sent her message containing the picture.

Again I have NO PROBLEMS with people ordering something from me then after a while deciding to change it up. My problem is this- ordering something from me, pulling it apart, remaking it, then claiming it 100% as THEIR OWN WORK.

My main reason for posting this is so people, specifically those who make accessories to sell, know there is someone out there doing this. I wont post her name publicly so as to not embarrass her but, if anyone wishes to know who I am talking about then please message me and I will tell you privately. She has been permanently banned from all of my pages on FB and I will no longer be providing service to her for stress and worry that anything I make for her will just be torn apart and claimed as her own work. (Also, will gladly provide screenshots if needed.)

If an admin, or anyone, feels I should move this to its own thread and out of this one I will gladly do so. I just felt here would be fine for now as this post is sort of a vent/warning.
I remember this piece... you did such a good job with it... From what i can see from the pictures, its the SAME exact piece, just "revamped" no credit given to you as the ORIGINAL creator, and all credits being taken... :/ I'm really sorry this happened... that's really just not cool... :/ I mean they could have at least said "Oh hey i got this great headdress from _______ but i wanted to change it a bit so i did this." but that doesnt seem to be the case here?
I'm really sorry to see this sort of thing happened. I mean to be inspired and replicate with your own twist is one thing... but to USE something someone else made, add to it, and then claim the ENTIRE thing as YOUR original work? that just seems so.... wrong. I hope the person at least decides to be honest about what they did...
