Yes. It was earlier this afternoon at the pool. When I first saw them, I didn't know they had a camera. It was when I saw flashes underwater then I knew. I tried to get away, but they kept following me. I wouldn't have minded if they ask my permission first, but they didn't and just kept following and taking photos. The awkward moment when you and your mom are looking at old pictures of you in mermaid costumes from five years ago and your mom says, "Back then I thought it was just a phase."
The awkward moment when a new girl doesn't talk to you anymore because the first time you met she told you her name was Ariel and you went on a ten minute rant about mermaids. (sadly this happens a lot)
That awkward moment when you go to the fabric store to get fabric for your first mermaid tail, and the lady at the desk asks you what the fabric is for. Then when you say it is for a mermaid tail, she thinks you are talking about a costume mermaid tail, which evidently a lot of people made for Halloween this year, so it seems normal to her. Then you wonder what she would say if you explained that you are making a swimmable mermaid tail and not just a mermaid dress or costume.
That awkward moment when you come up with an awesome tail design, then realize that it would be impossible to get it to work when done in fabric. Also you haven't had a tail yet, so you have to use fabric to start with for a while. So now you have to come up with a new tail design that can actually be done in fabric!
That awkward moment when JUST RIGHT NOW your mom says you look like Snow White, and you were not expecting that. Huh?? She says I look like the Kristen Stewart Snow White. (We watched Snow White & The Huntsman recently)
That awkward moment when you are set on using Jacquard Lumiere fabric paint after seeing how well it worked for Jadestone's fabric tail, and you go to several stores and they ask you twice what the paint is called and they have no idea what you are talking about! I felt like I was imagining this paint! Soo I just ordered it online instead.
UUUUUUGGGGGGH I abosoutly hate that! when i was making my first tail my mom just said it and i was to shy and my mom is soooo bad at explaining things. i just asked for swimsuit fabric and left

I remember doing that before I started ordering everything online. I used to say it was for a mermaid swimming costume. And when they said I didn't need 6 metres of fabric, I just lied and said its in case I made mistakes, then I have extra fabric to start over.
Oh forgot to report last Sunday's swim...
TAMW one has a strange conversation with a young lifeguard. When I say young, he's in his 20s.
Lifeguard - "I like your mermaid tail"
Me - "Thanks"
Lifeguard - "Where did you get it?"
Me - "I made it"
Lifeguard - "Cool. How did you make it?"
Me - "With swimwear fabric and a sewing machine" At this point, I was seeing how far I could go with this silly chat!
Lifeguard - "Is the swimwear fabric like lycra?"
Me - "Yes"
Lifeguard - "I like your fins too. They're neat."
Me - *smiles*
Ooook... Time to swim away...

That awkward moment when your new Betta starts trying to dictate what you can and can't wear...
I got home from work today, took my coat off, and went into the living room to check on him and he IMMEDIATELY puffs up and starts flashing his fins at me all angry-like. Then I realized I was still wearing my neon-green work shirt. I took that off so I was just in the black undershirt and he calmed right down again!
I think my Betta has decided he's the fashion police...
... Fishion police??

That awkward moment when you finally meet your birth-mom, go to tell her your a mermaid, and she already knows!!!
TAMW you go to see the hobbit a second time, and about 2/3 of the way through the movie the power goes out. So during the 15 minutes of waiting for the power to come back a guy comes up and starts hitting on me.. really obviously.
Lol and when the movie started back up he abandoned his friend and sat by me the rest of the movie...AWKWARD

Sirenia, that is annoying/secretly enjoyable as a reassurance of your feminine attractiveness! It is especially annoying as the movie conked out, and something like that happened to me, too; when I went to see The Hobbit: The Battle of All The CGI We Can Muster, it was in IMAX but the 3D projector was down!
Because you can be a mermaid andhave an immortal soul!

2. That awkward moment when your grandma doesn't approve of mermaiding
3. That awkward moment when you go on a 15 hour drive and forget your wet fabric tail in the back of the car... It grew lots of mold
4. That awkward moment when your friend face times you and you are in the bathtub with your tail
