Wave monofin, US 8.5 Women's?

I am excitedly waiting for work to begin on my Mernation silicone tail! My feet are between sizes, so I could go with the Wave or the Rapid. I initially selected the Wave so that the smaller monofin would allow for a more flowy fluke. However, I have been doing some research, and I am a little nervous about the fit of the Wave monofin. I wear a women's 8.5, occasionally a 9, and sometimes an 8. I was a ballerina for almost 20 years, so my feet are pretty "squishy". Still, I have read many reviews that a size 8 is the very upper limit on the Wave, and some people at that size couldn't use it. I don't want to run the risk of the foot pocket being too small on a custom fit item. What do you think? I'm sorry if there's already an answer floating around the forum. I have the wave and I am a size 7.5, it really squeezes my feet from the sides (increasing cramping issues) length is fine though. I don't have particularly wide feet, but I think it might just be a narrow fit. My Mernation tail is going to start production in a few weeks and I am getting a rapid monofin to prevent any sizing issues. If it is too big, there is always the option of wearing neoprene socks, but you cant size up if it is too small.

RAPID. DO THE RAPID. I'm also an 8/9 and the wave is 1. not enough propulsion (for me) and 2. squeezes my feet. You can always wear socks, but you don't want to step sister it out and cut off your heel or toe.

Your feet won't ever fit into a Wave. I have one and I just barely fit into it, (can't wear socks of any kind) and my shoe size is 7.5.

I definitely think you should go with the Rapid. The foot pockets seem to run on the small side of what they say it will fit

Merkitty, are you doing a custom tail or a single color? I'd love to hear about your design. It's exciting to know that someone else is getting a tail from the same maker at about the same time. They're like tail cousins, lol.

I'm getting a sapphire single colour with four fin upgrades and silvery/white accent upgrade. It really is super exciting! Maybe one day there will be a mernation pod&meetup.

That sounds really beautiful. I'm doing a shimmery orange-yellow with the classic scales and fluke design. I'm going for goldfish colors, and I'll be airbrushing the orange and red-orange accents on it myself. My local pool is being really nice about letting me drag around my different experimentally painted dragonskin test pieces when I swim, lol. I'm sure they think I'm out of my mind.

A MerNation meet up would be so awesome. They and their customers all seem like such friendly, fun people. Maybe one day!

I'm getting my 2nd tail now. My first from Mernation. All the reviews i have seen are great. I'm going for powder blue and iridescent white with dorsal and the long flowy fluke. I'm so excited I could die. I agreea Mernation meetup would be way cool. New to Mernetwork btw. I guess I hafta go with the Rapid monofin too since my feet are a size 8. I'm really glad I saw this thread before I ordered.
