Sewed the fringe on today, started modifying the back to lace up (it had a zipper), and got the first shell made! ^.^ the picture of the shell is a little bright, its a denim blue with gold.

It's nothing fancy (yet) but I finally have the materials for my merman vest! I ordered extras because it's better to have too much than not enough. I'm not sure if I should create my own thread for progress on this or not...2200 scales, 4200 rings.

I do like the side detail. Maybe you could put thin strips of netting on certain parts of the side so as not to cover all of that detail. Or you could sew on a few random pearls.

I haven't added my top yet, so here it isIt has two real shells, sewn- on seaweed, sewn- on netting, glued down sparkles, and a pearly shell in the middle
