Hmmm...I'm not sure I know anyone (besides Raina) who has a Splash tail
and a pure Ariel tail...eh...not many coming to mind, either xD

Maybe that's because I mainly read tail threads where people are making totally unconventional, innovative, and colourful tails.
Like that white-blue seaslug tail, that is totally awesome, check it out.
Pearlie's tail is pretty unique too.

I think the tails on MN are really varied!

Arion has a splash tail but I can't think of anyone else besides those two, I've seen at least 4 splash tails made in the past year tho.

Don't forget the Spiderwick/lobster tail mermaid from the last MerFest. That was awesome! But seriously (hey now, stop laughing! ), if the last rant was promote tolerance for all tails, no matter the material, then should we not be tolerant of all tails, no matter the color or style? Some folks want to cosplay as Ariel, Madison, a Thirteenth Year merman, or a mermaid from H2O. No worries. Some folks just like the way those tails look. No worries. My current tail was inspired by the red drum, state saltwater fish of NC. I live in NC. Not all that original, to be honest, but it was good enough to inspire some of the artwork for NC MerFest 2014! When I finally get around to finishing the story of mersona, it will all make sense. It's wondrously ludicrous!

I've been seriously considering making a silicone tail and have been thinking a lot lately about how I'd like it to look. Just last week I was thinking, "Well, what if I did Splash or Ariel?" but decided against it because I want my blood, sweat, tears, and time to go toward something that I've imagined myself. And as my first attempt at silicone it's probs gonna be sketchy at best, so I might as well go balls to the wall.

When one part of my brain shot down the idea of Ariel/Madison, another part of my brain was a little sad. So I got on Etsy and bought these from Pearlie.

So now I WILL have (tiny) silicone Ariel and Splash tails, and for some reason, I feel better about that. Maybe I'm weird. Those keychains are so dang cute though!
