while the apology is eloquent, the comments about deserving feet instead of a tail and the gods should curse him to be a centaur negate it for me. They make light of the situation, "oh woe! I'm sorry that I am so passionate and loving towards all mermaids. If I have said anything wrong here (notice that he never said a thing about his past actions, just the ones that have gotten him in trouble on the mermania page) send me a PM"

and the continuous 'sad monkey' posts make it look like he's fishing for forgiveness

Maybe. But the timing seems super off and it sounds like a little kid apologizing after being told he won't get a piece of candy if he does not.

Yeah he posted it immediately after I pointed out that if he continued all he was going to achieve was an event ban.... Too perfectly timed for it not to be exactly that. I'm not holding out much hope.

Logged into my mermaid account and got my first super-gross shirtless hairy beer-gut photo from a guy old enough to be my dad (and my dad is nearing 60, so yeah.)



It's been that kind of week where I've got a rad new job, things are going great on that front, but now everything else is getting under my skin. I'm honestly considering just nuking my mermaid FB page and forgetting I ever did it at all, tbh. Having an account for all my mermaid-related stuff just isn't being as fun as I thought it was, and the only messages I ever seem to get are from creeps, and it's getting way too overwhelming. I'm terrible with people and I forget why I tried setting up a mermaid account at all in the first place.



I don't even know why this is upsetting me so much. When I was trapped in that cesspit known as the furry fandom I dealt with way worse than this on a constant basis, so really it shouldn't even phase me. Maybe I just don't have the spoons for it anymore, IDK.

Hmmm. Well, I was going to try to make it to Mer-Mania, but as someone who has experienced stalking, harassment and sexual violence (not at this person's hands, but in my past) I don't think I will now. I couldn't go somewhere where people who perpetrate this kind of behavior are also welcomed.
