I have a job, I actually just got a new job that actually gives me more than 2 hours a week.
What makes me upset about the thing he does is he does it all of the time! When I confront him on it he gets angry and starts yelling at me.

Gotcha. Sorry, in retrospect that question may have seemed condescending and snobbish. Not the intent there!

    I do get your frustration.

I like PearlieMae's idea of the eloping. I have heard sooo many times that newlyweds afterwards say they would have preffered eloping so they would not have had to deal with all the drama.
When you are back from eloping do a family dinner with only the closest people, the people who you really love and who you truly want there with you.

I've started looking at other places, but none of them really seem to fit. Our theme is woodland fairy tale and with both of us loving greenery we want a place with lots of plants (so a garden) and an outdoor canopy (is that what the pretty thing with the round top is called?). And a lot of the places allowing for outside food are where quinceanera are held and I don't want his family to think it's tacky to have a wedding where girls usually have their sweet 15 parties at (and a lot of them are very industrial and not very cozy for a small gathering because they're meant to fit 400 people in them)

and I'd love to explain soul food! (the best I can anyway)
Okay so black people (African- Americans in particular because I don't think black people in other parts of the world have soul food) during the era of slavery, were given the parts of food that was usually thrown away, and from that grew a whole food culture of foods that would be eaten for generations. Soul food is usually found in the southern states (since that's where most slaves were held) and as such is a staple of southern cultures and something southern people are really proud of. With my family being from the south originally (fun fact, my great grandma was a direct descendant of a slave! she could even tell us stories from her mom, she died at the ripe age of 105 about 15 years ago) but any way, soul food is somewhat of a comfort food. Soul food includes things like cornbread, chitlins (pig intestines) collared greens, gumbo, fried foods, seafood, etc.
My family usually save eating fast food to big celebrations because it's getting more expensive to buy the needed ingredients (as it's becoming more mainstream, people with higher incomes are now buying it, so companies raised prices because they could and the food is now not just a "poor man's" food now since the poor man can't really afford it any more) so we have soul food on Easter, Christmas, Thanksgiving, Family reunions, Baby showers, and when family visit from out of state
Omg omg omg....i love your wedding theme!!!!
Now i am just soooo curious to see your dress and whole ensemble!!
What kind of a dress are you wearing, and what color?
I sure hope you will have photos made and maybe share some with us?
I am truly sorry to hear you can't find a perfect place though, i still feel it is absolutely ridiculous that they charge you $800 for a not used service. Completly insane to me

I have heard about soul food from movies or when i hear people talk on tv but never really knew what it exactly was.
    Thank you for explaining!
When my hubby and I go for a tour through the United States (hopefully in the next few years somewhere) i would love to go somewhere where they make soul food and taste it. Not sure about the pig intestins but even that could be tasty. I eat liver worst and blood worst over here, so why not try it?
I have heard of gumbo and cornbread but once again, never was able to taste it.
Wow, your great grandmother was 105? That is so amazing, she must have had great stories to tell! I wish i had met my great grandmother and was able to get some of her knowledge and wisdom, you were very lucky to have been able to meet your great grandmother

Yes I agree! If anyone has never had gumbo before you need to put that on your list of things to do in life. It is sooooo good! Just the smell alone will make your mouth water. My family mainly makes chicken gumbo, but there are also seafood gumbos that a lot of places on the water serve around here. That gives me an idea...Maybe I could request that for Thanksgiving we could have turkey gumbo haha.

Never had gumbo... Does grits count as soul food? Tried it at merfest and hated it. *takes cover*

Wait wait what. Hating grits??? How is that possible????

Ugh. Ugh. I hate people who claim that I'm intolerant of others religion. I couldn't care less.
So Michelle, being the biggest sweetheart ever explains that "God is Everything and Everybody" as opposed to "God is He". And we were have peaceful conversation when this person claims we are bordering on heresy. HERESY. I tell this person "heresy is for the Middle Ages" because if you claim someone is a heretic, they're basically calling you crazy, Cuckoo, a lunatic for having a different belief about God, and about anything! (Edit: not to mention they would burn you alive)

then this guy tells me that they're catholic and that I should stuff it because it's part of catholicism. Uh I'm sorry but you live in a modern world where trans women can become nuns, and before that was seen as blasphemy. Did he try to claim heresy then against Michelle? Ugh. Ugh.
    I cant. Literally, I can't.

    You're pretty laid-back, Seaglass.

It's not worth getting upset over people who are fanatical believers of -anything-, religious or otherwise, because they cannot be reasoned with.

Sometimes people who make false accusations or namecall are just being trolls, but either way, they're not worth your time.

Ah but if you only knew echidna D: when I get passionate about something, it is ON.
but I told him to stuff it because like it or not he lives in a modern world where anything goes, and to claim I was being intolerant of Michelle's religion is rude. And then I blocked him.
