I understand the need to look different, to have an identity and to 'prove' you did not copy someone, even if you are going for a similar look (ie splash, a certain fish species, etc), but all merfolk need to understand that tails will look similar even with different flukes or fins here versus there. That is just it. Does it makes yours any less special? No. How many people have orange tails? Red tails? Green tails? Do we need to count blue ones?! *Hides her mass of them* It's all about the color pattern and association. The overall shape can vary a ton, but it's the color that will draw people in to be like "That looks like Raina/Iona/Una/Raven/<Insert Merperson's Name Here>'s tail."

I understand she's probably frustrated, there were probably a few comments on FB or wherever asking if that was a new Raina tail or that it looked like Raina's tail, I can understand that. They're both in that warm colour spectrum and the dark blue/ black lining on the fluke is very similar but they're both different tails. If you put them side by side you'd easily be able to see differences, especially on the back where hers goes a very dark, rich red and Raina's stays more orange. Even if they do look similar or not though it doesn't really matter. As long as you love your tail then it doesn't matter if there are 50 000 more like them.
Raina, how did you guys get the overhead shots? Lifeguard tower?

I think the whole "Her tail looks like Raina's" is the silliest thing. Raina's tail is inspired by Splash! As are so many other tails from so many other mers. I really don't think her tail looks like Raina's on that big of a spectrum.

Nice!! The only thing looks the same as Raina's, is the fluke shape. Everything else is different. So its not Raina's tail or anything like that. Unless Raven can duplicate exactly the colors, paint streaks, dots etc, I don't ever think its a copy of Raina's tail.

thank you. I DO think our tails look similar even though Mia and Raven dont. Copy? no. But similar? Yes. Am I bothered? Not in the slightest. I am happy for her. I am more frustrated that the video goes on about me when it should be about unboxing a tail... I don't want people thinking I have any kind of problem with it. Even fish of the same species don't look exactly the same. There is always something different about them. I think it applies to mermaid tails too. No two fish are alike, just as no two mers are the same.

I totally understand the pain when people think you're getting scammed or something because the tail is taking too long. My mother does it all the time to me when she checks up on the status/progress which I never have for her which worries her. For a tail being 2600$+ I understand the worry but having to explain over and over again that Raven and her Husband are basically the company and she does everything herself gets a bit frustrating because I dont really believe she truly understands. I think she just agrees to get me to stop talking and taking Raven's side.
Everyone's time is going on further then I though. I really, really hope that she doesn't try to send my tail while I'm in Europe. I'm hoping I have cell reception so I can receive my emails but last time I was in France I couldn't get shit. >.< I can't wait to see everyone's tails though! I'm so excited for each of you!

B) If it makes you feel better I know she told me she actually sees most of the emails, but forgets to reply a lot.
I've officially decided that I want Merbella to be my tail maker but I can't seem to find any sort of master list of fluke options. Her Facebook album with tail templates only has three but I was certain she offered at least five different options. Can anyone point me in the direction of a complete list of her fluke options?
