Mako Mermaids/Island of Secrets News

I think this one is supposed to be set in an alternate universe sort of thing. Different series, different show, different mermaids, still Mako island (though the island itself has changed some too in terms of the appearance and structure of the moonpool). Following this idea, the Mako pod has always been there. As far as I am aware though, we dont yet have confirmation of Rikkis return. We got a teaser with Cariba (and an unknown new mermaid) and that is it. Because 'Rikki' returning has yet to be confirmed (just her actress as a mermaid) there are no details about whether she will be the old character coming on the show, or just the director bringing her in as a separate new character (that older fans will remember as being on the old series). If they do bring her back as Rikki (almost like a younger Mrs. Chatham in the original series) I hope they bring back Cleo too (and if they brought back Emma and Bella so they could finally meet, I will die). Only time will reveal. I am pretty excited though

Rikki the character from h2o is 100% confirmed as guest starring in the next Mako season, as evidenced by this post where her name is mentioned and the character name is even tagged in the photo! I remember in the final episode of H2O, when they were at the graduation, one of the students that got called to the stage for their certificate, was Lucy Fry. And it was same chick as in Mako Mermaids. That was how I got to thinking, how come they and the real pod never met each other.

Good news for Aussie Mako fans - Season 2 has been released today on Aussie Netflix! (Yea we're a little bit behind here!) Also season 3 is coming to tv really soon, the producer says 'hopefully March or April'!

It will likely be released on Netflix the same day it debuts anywhere else. At least that's what they did last time.

OK I finally have an update for anyone who has been hanging out to catch the new season of Mako Mermaids! The new episodes are currently screening in Australia on TV on Channel 11 on Sundays at 10am. The first 2 episodes have already been on but if you're quick you can still catch them on tenplay.com.au. It looks like the new season will not be coming to Aus Netflix until after all episodes have been aired here.

As for the rest of the world the US Netflix release date will be 27th May (ie Friday) when the entire season will be released at once. Hope this info helps!
