Thread: Mermaid Amelia Pond's Silicone Tail Journey

I'm also working on my son's merboy worbla armor shoulder pauldron. It should be very "organic armor" like for a lack of a description. I think I'm rather crafting ADHD.

You think it's salvageabl? Add in resin to fill in the bubbles?

New scale sheet took much more work filling in the resin with a toothpick. It was worth the extra effort because I can really make a lot more scales. What would have taken most of the day to do is now just one batch. This helps also getting more uniform colors too. I'm very excited.

Yu! I'm keen to see more progress. Have you started sculpting your fluke yet?

I don't have enough clay and I want to get my monofin 1st to make sure it will fit nicely within the fluke design.

I took all the scales off my body cast because most need a top coat and I wasn't happy with the placement.

I should go ahead n get a top coat on what I have n work on placement today. I want more clear iridescent fine glitter to put in the top coat.

I'm also playing with the leftovers top make my seaglass top.

I posted a little video of me pulling out a scale from mold on my mermaid facebook page. If you want to see it. I kept getting errors when trying to post via mobile over here.

I think everything you pinned looks absolutely stunning, but I can understand why you would want to make more inbetween colors.

I think I printed it too small

I need to wait till my monofin arrives
I couldn't find the actual dimensions anywhere

The ankle part does look a bit small, but that can be changed super easily

I agree about the ankle, but I must say that fluke shape is stunning.

    Still working on placement... Ugh.

I do seem to like this better so far.

I'm going out of town for a week so here's to a last update until I get back n start up again. Hopefully the monofin will arrive before I get back so I can reprint the design n trace onto a poster board n start sculpting. My husband offered to makes scales while I was away but he make odd color combos so I gently declined his kind offer.
