Createx Paint Stores

I have a few questions about createx paint.

Does anyone know what stores in the US sell createx pearl turquoise paint?
Can I paint it on with a brush or do I have to use an airbrush machine?
How long does it need to dry before swimming?

I really don't want to buy online. I wanted to get it at a walk in store just in case I needed to return it. I checked Hobby Lobby and they do have it but not that color (of course ) :/ Need it to touch up my mertailor latex tail. I figure if I paint it then maybe it'll be a little more decent to swim in again until I get my new silicone tail. I definitely won't be doing kid events with it anymore but just practice and fun. Just need more security


Also this has nothing to do with the paint but is hot glue the best thing to use to make hair clips and accessories for in water use? Will it hold up? I was wanting to attempt to make my own hair clips but didn't know how I should adhere them. Don't want them falling apart from water use.

I don't have the answers to your other questions, as I use an airbrush to make my tails.
However I have heard warnings about using hot glue for accessories that will be worn in water, so I don't recommend it as they will likely fall apart.

Hot glue, in my experience, will just peel off at whim... I wouldn't trust it in water, especially cool pool water.

How about a glue like E6000? It will probably hold a hair accessory together better. You can also strengthen the hair accessory by sewing your things together onto the hair clip with invisible thread.

Use E6000, you can get it at walmat for like $3. Hot glue doesn't hold up in water.

I got mine (in that color plus others) at Blick art supply store in Evanston, IL. You would need to mix it with ALEX plus latex that you can get at Walmart and let it dry for 24-48 hours and then spray it with silicone spray that you can get at ACE hardware store or Home Depot. This will also need to dry for at least 24 hours (but after the paint completely dries!)

I used Createx for my neoprene tail, but unfortunately it washed away in chlorine water. Next Saturday I'll visit a airbrush artist in Lijnden, Holland for a better solution.

Hmm... I was going to paint my neoprene tail with it, guess I will have to get some extra so I can do touchups when needed. Unless it washes off in one go, then it would be kinda useless.

Wow thanks guys for the tips! I was really hoping to just use a paintbrush because I don't want to go to a huge expense. Saving up for a silicone tail replacement so too much money invested in fixing the old one will extend the silicone tail that much longer. Was hoping to just paint on createx when needed with a brush and be done with it. I don't swim in it a whole lot because it looks so terrible. I've never heard of E6000 before. New at making things for swimming. I'm a hot glue person as far as making mums when I was in high school and repairing wings for a halloween costume. You know small things like that but didn't know if pool water would phase it. I bought a top from raven and it looks like she uses hot glue to stick on pearls and stuff

Checked out what E6000 is and looks simple enough to use. I suppose its like regular glue. How long does it need to dry before entering water? I've also been looking Everywhere for faux seaweed or some aquatic fake plant for the clips too but no one sells them. The stores I checked have everything but that which is crazy. Even looked up pet shops to see if theres plants for aquariums I could use but nothing. Never thought something so simple could be so difficult to find. I even checked amazon and I didn't see anything there either. I must be having the worst luck

If I ever get a realistic tail I will need to know that in order to customise/repair it's paint work.

I'm pretty sure she also uses E6000 it's pretty cheap and dries like hot glue but hot glue washes away in the water and it's not so good for rough surfaces. You can use E6000 on metal to metal! This stuff is nuts XD

Try Micheal's or Hobby Lobby. I was in the same boat as you and yesterday I went to Micheal's and they had basically half the store fulled with this stuff! I couldn't even see the shelves!!

I will have to find a michaels and check it out! Excited to try out the crafting thing in the mermaid world. I will have to post pictures when I do it! Hope they turn out good. It seems simple enough. I'll have to buy a heat gun for the createx and will have to order the createx online because none of the stores in Texas are near me whatsoever! All about 3-6 hours drive away. Not convenient. Hobby lobby has createx so I'll have to check again for my color. Maybe I'll get lucky. Need to run by there for clip supplies anyhow.
