    Question Shimmerbaby Tails??

    I went to http://shimmerbabymermaids.com/ and saw some of the tails. I was totally blown away! I absolutely LOVE the translucent fluke's. They look so realistic! I'm super interested in buying one..Idc what the price is..As long as its not over 10k xD But idk if she makes/sells them or not.. It says under "services" that there are custom tails, but all the children's tails that I have seen are fabric..? Though it would make sense to make children tails out of fabric.. But im still very confused and anxious to know more about these tails. I saw on fb that she said the tails in the pictures werent for sale, but still wasn't specific if she made tails like them or not etc. Augh. I really wanna know. >.< I'd die to have a realistic tail like that..

    she buys them from movies when they're done with them. She doesn't sell those. She makes fabric ones for kids.

    some of them arent swimmable, and were used for ariel work (like, hanging from wires instead of swimming underwater)

    that's kinda false advertising. she made it seem like she was making and selling the tails that show up in all her pictures
    and I've never seen any of those tails anywhere so i assumed they were unique works of her own. she should really advertise herself more clearly

    I think that's just a business move to get people more interested. Which has worked, cuz it got a lot of us interested. But yes I'm pretty sure they were made by studio kite who did the costumes for this commercial...

    I'm just going to necro this thread for a moment, because I really want to know whether shimmerbaby actually does make tails like these, or if she's lying when she says so here. Then here she says she makes them for $20,000... Yep, there's four zeros there... because they are "specially designed" and take over three months to make? Raven takes 6 months at least, and she only charges a few thousand.
    I don't like questioning people without all the facts, but all of this just seems rather fishy to me.

    Idk about that commercial, they all look pretty computerized.
    At least one of them looks like it could be from Mermaids but I could be wrong :P

    actually, I believe those are (at least from the same company) if not the same commerical. I think that there was a LOT of wire work and (of course) all green-screen work, which is why I think they look so computer-y. I have seen pics of their tails from that actual commercial shoot!
